Hello, I bought a wall mounted fireplace but I thought it would be flat like a flat screen tv. Its about 4 inches thick and my husband said the directions appear to show it needs to be placed INSIDE a wall, or an opening, instead of ON the wall. Looking at this video yours appear to be the same but you placed it on the wall. We may not need to send ours back, after all. We live in an apartment and cannot create an opening to insert it in. Thanks for sharing.

Well, my cocoon fireplace fuel container does not lift out. It warms the room minimally - not a heat source. My biggest complaint is that the flame is about 3" high. I bought this for atmosphere, I knew the limitations as a fireplace. The instructions don't tell you how much fuel to add (BTW I could not find a single store in San Francisco that sold fuel, I had to order via Sharper Image) but I found a manual on line that said add 1 cup. So, the flame is so low I can barely see it. It flicks randomly 1" - 3" above the rim of the opening. Come on $2,000 I expected more. Could have bought a cheap tabletop model for $200, and maybe be enjoying a flame.

Wow...am I glad I dropped in! Some of the flame effects are...Arty and granted, pleasant in their own right, if that's your requirement. There is a lot of misrepresentation in the market regarding exactly what these things look like...I'm being polite...some of them are frankly...quite crap...🙄.

Excellent stove! Keeps the house warm (1500sqft). Easy to use and easy set up. Recommend to have the gas company hook up the gas line and test it.
