I did change the pickups for Fishmen Fluence too on my own HB R-458. I added new Gotoh locking tuners. Thes originals didn't hold the tuning and really hard to be precise with. Now she sounds great. But the guitare core is really good on it's own. Something i noticed over the years, the frets have some orange staind dots on them. Is it possible that the frets can rust ?

I was considering this R-458 for about 3 months. Than I saw you video about with the MultiScale-8 QEB. Now... I have both in the cart for the past week and can't decide. The QEB in green is so beautiful, I love the way it looks. But the R-458 is half the price. This would be my first 8 string guitar and probably my last (I play the same BC Rich Warlock for the past 24 years). What is you opinion about R-458 vs QEB (green...has to be green. looks so good I got shivers when I saw your video). I will not make any upgrades to it, will not change the pickups. For me it's just a hobby. Thank you!

Absolutely chuggy riffs, I love it. I'm amazed how good the reviews are for these things, I don't think I even saw this many positive reviews for the budget Ibanez 7 string I got, and I consider that a damn good guitar for the price. Super stoked to get one, been watching reviews for a bit now lol.
