I'm one of the victims of MTI . I drove for them as a relay driver for over a year and was on my way to 90k this year. Now I'm struggling to find local work. I may have to go back OTR and so be it. MTI changed ownership a couple of years ago and were making leaps and bounds to clean up the terrible out of service statistics. It's a shame because they were making headway. USPS aren't done with their victims either. This will probably be the first of many company shut Downs. It's just unfortunate MTI had all of their eggs in one basket and no other accounts.

I consider DAT as the most worrying loadboard by far. 6 out of 10 carrier companies are double brokers. Now TS moving its customer service to India mmmm doesnt sound right either.

Imagine India or the Philippines outsourcing customer service to American Truckers. Lmao. One day China will be too rich to do it's own low wage work and Americans will be too dumb to learn Chinese. Go figure.

Emails don’t work unless you’ve talked to them on the phone already. Trust me. I’ve tried it in my 14 years brokering. It’s never worked unless you’ve already spoken to them

FMCSA should have a monitored channel here on TH-cam….and they should be in touch every day with drivers,carriers,brokers etc…. And they should listen and take action based on registered participants….the others could see but not comment….so vulgar language and fake ID etc could be eliminated 100% from the beginning. Maybe someone from there,might see this message.

It's a super simple aspect within the industry that keeps toting the line of discrepancy and gives off shadiness to both sides because of greed and other characteristics. I'm personally a broker, have been successful and got to where I am by keeping it simple. People lowball carriers, which creates their actions that further fuel the idea that they feel entitled to know the sell rate between broker & customer. Transparency is needed across the board, but that is far too deep. Similarly, there's no need to know this as the carrier side entails confidential aspects that the other side will never know. I realize it's ignorant and naive to think everyone operates with integrity, but for anyone wanting advice, I've kept long-term relationships and healthy growth by not being greedy. Which is what it boils down to around this topic. Take care of the guys physically driving and transporting on behalf of your client and yourself, and more business comes by default assuming all around good service. So many focus on these types of topics when the focus should be being decent and ethical within your operations, because the shady and ego-driven actors out to always beat down rates and maximize everything most of the time weave out. Consistency and long-term business is my goal, but then again what do I know? haha. Great video regardless.

I spend so much time vetting current and new carriers. If they have a company in one state and mail is forwarded to another (especially an agent) the ones that do the paperwork to start business, they are blacklisted. If they have no footprint in the USA, blacklisted, sadly so many IL, OH, KS, NY, DE, Fl, ca, wa, ut, carriers are fake. I check the sos for the state to make sure they are registered, if not, I don’t give them my business. I also check on OC to see how many companies the owner is associated with, sometimes it staggering. This is another reason I have my office email in my load listings and request carriers to email with their name, company, mc and phone. If things don’t match or I find something shady in my vetting process, they are blocked.

Not good for the driving public profit over safety.

Deregulation of the rail industry has led to massive corporate profits and the erosion of the higher pay that attracted workers. Now, the rail carriers are constantly shorthanded and unable to find workers that will stay long term and put up with the "railroad lifestyle."

Madness has consumed a few…deregulation, hahahahaha, no, not good for the average Joe!

I’m a retired 45 year truck driver if you think deregulation is a good thing you have totally lost your mind unfortunately large companies will screw their employees if they can make more money when I became a truck driver I had a choice between a non union company and a union company went with the teamster company because of that I have a nice pension but also every company that I worked for had rules in place for their employees that will not be the case if you take all regulations away. I’m sorry but if you feel that letting companies make up the rule is a good idea your just plan stupid

How do you type up rate confirmation?

I am for the new Supreme Court ruling. It will help many industries, including trucking. The administrative state has overshot their areas of expertise. Government is way too powerful and involved in so many areas where their input is counterproductive. I hope it will also reverse the pulling away from enforcing government's essential areas, such as policing, as well as border protection, where the administrative state has "reinterpreted" the original intent. This way they will have to enforce those laws as originally written and intended.

As one of the employees is completely screwed us we didn't get are final pay checks for hours we worked or pto time they should be held responsible for this shit I've never been treated like this from an employer

Good vid, just one thing I’d like to say…. We aren’t in a driver shortage but in a time where it is hard lack to keep qualified talent. This is simply due to supply and demand, too many drivers not enough freight.
