to answer your question about the stuff i use, yeah, i use ibispaint x. i would use animating softwares for my animation / animatic videos, but i hate how most animating softwares are formatted :( i have similar issues with streaming services, for some reason good to hear your hand is getting better!

could you explain the fandom thing going on with vaggie and velvette? /nf also, charlie IS giving 50%. i love her, but she seems to be having a hard time managing a relationship and the hotel. ill talk about it in a video soon or something!

@@shmookpook I’ve just seen a lot of people shipping Velvet with Vaggie lately, I think started as a joke and kinda became a thing, it’s not huge probs bc Vaggie isn’t a fan favorite, but it’s definitely out there. I’ve seen a few AUs too where she was Velvets ex or something, either way I think it’d be a really interesting dynamic. I could see Velvet locking on to Vaggie bc she’s jealous of Charlie and all the attention she gets as princess so she starts obsessing over her gf as a way to take revenge and steal Vaggie. Then it kinda turns into her having a real crush and not really realizing it. While Vaggie is kinda caught in the middle just trying to figure things out and know her own self worth within her relationship, maybe even being manipulated by Velvet bc we know she’d do that, and she could easily do it considering Charlie really does need to pay more attention to Vags. Edit: also I’d love a video about her and Charlie’s dynamic!!! I just subbed 😊

@@shmookpook GOD I HATE LEGS , in my speedpaints you can literally see me just struggling with legs, it’s just the postion / placement of them and making sure they’re not too lanky and stick like or short.

thanks for being kind! a lot of this video is speculation, yeah. it was kinda my way of sharing how i perceive the character. im mostly basing my view of her on the way i felt when i was in a situation similar to hers. sometimes its not obvious when a person is struggling, so i wanted to share what i felt would be most plausible for someone like her.

@@shmookpook hey! Awesome! I really do love the art and character analysis. :3 And a very stupid way. ^^; got a bum knee that will just go out on me. Had it happen so I just had my leg go in a hotel room’s shower in a legit not-plastic bath, and was keeping myself from cracking my skull open. The hand bone in my main hand that controls my ring finger was a small price to pay (and two screws) to not end up with a concussion. I don’t know how I didn’t hurt anything else but a bruised side and only broke one bone in my hand and that was because I was at a weird angle protecting the rest of my face from a tub wall. Not very exciting and a dumb way to break my first bone (sort of technically). Left knee got fixed then hand got fixed three days later. I was so frustrated because I’d planned art, had my switch, and wanted to write some fic I’d had planned (working on a semi-canon compliant AU of my now canon-non compliant fic I’ve been writing for years but don’t post for Hazbin) and… can’t use my left hand to do anything, nor hold a controller. :/ But that’s how I found your channel! And I legit clicked the vid because I’ve not seen people be willing to post redesigns where they only make “small” or at least logistical changes, and I meant what I said that if Vaggie your Vaggie was in a comic book format and not animated, she’d fit. Between that and the breakdown of her character, I was so refreshed to see someone giving Hazbin a fair shake (including the lack of her actual development highlighting her codependency with Charlie-super good spot, I missed it completely, but I also really liked her in the canon show from the ‘I hate Alastor for basically rumors and hearsay’ way she was written in the pilot. Of course, I miss Pilot Alastor, so much. It’s almost pathetic. ^^; But Alastor seems to be Lu’s Foil and that means Greedy Alastor has to go out the window, and we’ve gotta have the prideful cocky idiot who refused to bring his preferred hunting weapons to an angel blade fight, since Lu’s sin is Pride. I want to bonk Al over the head, right between the antlers, with both his _and_ Pilot Alastor’s micstaff, just so someone can tell him ‘no, Alastor, cut it out’ which apparently, even _Rosie_ hasn’t done.) (Like I said, I have so many thoughts on Alastor, so, so many. And the magic system and Hell as a whole and the fact that they only got modern tech once Alastor went poof which is why most of Hell is not a capitalist tech dystopia, and is kind of rundown 1950s but does have a power grid. I also have a theory about Al himself that makes sense and goes to help explaining why Hell isn’t future shocked into oblivion. But doesn’t explain why he seems to own nothing and now has grafted his tower to the hotel and post S1:E8 has made an entirely new office space and station/tower.)

Oh, and just because you went subtle with Vaggie, doesn’t mean you can’t do whatever you’d like with Al and then justify it within the Hazbin lore of _Hell_ and why it makes sense for that design. (Biggest thing I see whenever someone crowbars in Alastor’s background into his skintone, or focuses on giving him lots of animal facial features, missing that his charming, refined, Headliner persona is _why_ he was able to do what he did. And why he’s so cocky now and was so greedy in the Pilot. His race is a non-issue that Hell either will make a problem _for him_ if Alastor has an issue with being mixed, and his Radio Persona was his public facing mask not the monster underneath. Which is part of why the way I ended up changing things in prose ((he just has bad time in general ^^;)) takes into account what someone from 1900s New Orleans might think because I’ve grown up in the south and am planning on living in/around Baton Rogue, so my connection to Louisiana is pretty stick the mud over it-and as a historian. Also a vindictive writer who has chased that stag to the ends of Hell to make him miserable for my own pleasure. Ah the irony of Alastor writers usually being just like him in the “hold still, this will hurt more if you squirm and I’ll have more fun if you do” department. I promise we’re not all completely as mad as a box of frogs ^^;) I’m really curious. And I trust your media literacy :3 There’s no blind faith and you’re realistic but very fair. I had a fascinating thought that I don’t think is right, but a comic I read had a little Voodoo poppet of Alastor, and it had sticks for his antlers, and I’ve loved his full demon form in “A Day in the After Life” especially those antlers branching as they do, like cypress knees. And it occurred to me that he might be so oddly put together as a “deer demon” is because he’s put together. His antlers aren’t real. He’s not even really real, he’s just a life sized voodoo doll. He has sticks for antlers, and thread and yarn for hair. Straw for stuffing, and keeping his mouth sewn on. Little hooves made out of felt. A fluffy cotton tail that’s been painted and stitched on by a cotton ball. And honestly that is just a _horrific_ thought that he’s been cobbled together and is being held together by that bright green string and he never was that powerful because he never belonged to himself when he was alive. He was in contracts and all sorts of other things with spirits a who knows what. So him being infused with life when he’s actually just a living voodoo doll is… like I said, horrific. Even I’m not _that_ mean. Yeeesh. And I shall! With the hand, I mean. I want to get my finger back to full use (cut the tendon too when the bone broke so it’s a mess). But I’m stubborn. And if I have any long term issues my ring finger can lag behind my other four and the world won’t end. XD
