Can I stick weld with this
@@jaramiepayne6341 no you would want the 255 multimatic
I know I'm late but has anyone considered using the filler funnel to drain oil?
go to Lake Speed the motor oil Geek if you want to learn about lubricants. Licensed Tribologist with unbelievable testing equipment. Back yard chemistry such as this is total bull....
Marvel Mystery Oil dilutes the motor oil and upsets the chemical balance of the oil. Typically it is run with the fuel..AFTER...break in. Use oil with Zinc such as a Conventional Dino Castrol for break in. Run twice change twice and then 5w30 Synthetic.
I usually just break mine in by taking it to the track and redlining it.
@@mastershredder2002 never seen anyone race a generator, but now I want to
I think welding lense needs a redesign. It needs to separate from the helmet better and faster. I was disappointed on how much of a pain it is to readjust everything once you take it off.
@@Sixtoescreations are you talking about the front lenses specifically?
@SteelDogFab no. Not the replacement lenses. The whole flip up top
@ yeah that makes sense. I’m truth I never disassembled it that far, I could tell it would be a PITA.
@SteelDogFab I'm an autobody tech. I bought this unit to use for welding and for body work. It would be nice just to pop the top half off when I'm not welding all day
@ there’s a company out there called “optral” I believe, I think they are a Swedish company. But they manufactured a PAPR, that has the backpack, blower unit, and the soft mask that inflates. Something like that might be better for you that you’re not lugging around a heavy welding hood, if you are just sanding body filler.
I have had my 255 for just over a year. I love it for the most part. I just upgraded the software, and it seems to be working great. I was having issues with burnback using dual sheild .045 wire. I haven't tried the dual sheild again since I updated the software. We will see.
This is the best generator break-in video on YT. Well done sir, and thank you!
@@DevinAkin thank you Devin I appreciate it!

why not show how to disassemble? to fast video, Bad , pass,

Looks like a nice little job. I like those ones. I would appreciate any feedback on your millermatic 255 as you use it for your jobs. Thanks and keep up the great work 👍
@@michaelbigelow367 I might make a follow up video of my 255. I have been using one at work, and one at my home shop for a few years now. Still my favorite machine
@SteelDogFab so glad to hear this! Thanks again and I'll be watching. I want to see what this thing is capable of. It has alot of features.
I have a 1979 ford 1100 pretty similar to yours I paid $1500 I only got the tractor and the loader the loader needed all new cylinders and lines about $1800 she came with new front shoes I put some matching rear shoes on her about $400 I broke the rear differential so a new used one of those about $250 and soem misc parts about $600 so I got about $4600 in her love the tractor definitely recommend them
@@Huntersprojects that’s awesome! They are good little machines. How did you break the differential?
It was previously repaired not correctly… hooked the lines from the pump together for 3pt function without the loader on and created pressure as the valve wasn’t working correctly and blew the repair out the back
nice job, finished up my MOVE bumper a few weeks ago. The bumper is a beast and hope I never have to use it for random deer, does give you some peace of mind knowing its there.

@@kymharvey2355 there’s going to be a lot of work to get it running on the scirocco, because it’s currently multi port injected. I do think Aces is running a sale right now though.
pretty neat, i have the same spool gun but i need an adapter for the 212 non automatic machine, i tried tig for the first time just yesterday and that's very tricky for sure, on the older 212 not sure how it's going to work as there isn't any display like yours, should be a fun learning test
@@diggindiggenit6540 let me know how it goes!
@@SteelDogFab unless there is an adapter in the spool gun box i have to order one, I am just trying to redo a boat transom, i pulled out the rotten wood and saw how many holes were in the back plate (dam) and the very back plate, corrosion/pits , holes etc, had a 12 foot x 4' 1/8 thick aluminum so i cut two copies with the plasma cutter and now trying to learn aluminum in a rush lol to be honest the tig i know will take me more time, But the spool gun might be the ticket, check you out you put down a respectable bead first go at it, I will look tomorrow and see if there is an adapter in the box have fun oh worst case if there is no adapter i have another miller a vintage 250 that's functional and it has a non miller spool gun hanging i could just try that one
@@diggindiggenit6540 it’s been a long time since I messed around with a Miller 212, doesn’t have the cable hookup in the front? Most machines should have a chart for settings vs material thickness

Heyaa, loved the energy🙌! I'm not really sure if it is the best time to ask but, I was wondering if I could help you create a better distribution by working on post-production like better storytelling through Edits, Keywords, think catchy intros and outros, or even some engaging short clips! Put some locking compound on the outside of the rivnut before you put it in the sheet metal, it helps it to not rotate...
Rivitnuts. Fine if they are not painted. The bolt will cross thread if you are not careful and will come loose and spin. Suggest you run tap through the rivet to clear the paint to avoid grief.
Nicely done!

What timing i was looking at how hard it would be to build one
If you take your time, they go pretty easy. I have probably built at least 10 of these over the years. The instructions are only really a guideline to assembly so I figured I would make some content about it

Try my esab helmet.
Bring it over lol
To me the esab a60 is way too big. When laying down you can't get in tight spots because you're like darthvader. Sure it's good just standing there in a big open area though.
i've been working a lot with a spool gun recently and the welds always seem to be kind of ugly. Like you I found the normal spray arc MIG more reliable and gave a better finish than the Pulse MIG. I've also found that using anti spatter spray helps keep the finished welds and work area cleaner.
I need to make a new video, again, with more hours under my belt. When I first did the “pulse” setting, I was welding 1/8” to 1/4”, so I really should of turned the machine up to 3/16-1/4
