Coatings do not require maintenance. If it does, then it's a glorified sealant. The hydrophobics and gloss might diminish overtime, but if deconed properly it will come right back to life. Also, there is no value to the client getting a coating then requiring bi-annual maintenance because it's not saving them any time, money, or offering them any convenience over a bi-annual detail with a good sealant.

I live in s medium sized town and have had three new shops open up in my town in the last year. They all flood the local groups with their ads and I don't really want to clutter up the feeds of people as there are so many detailers. How do you combat this?

Detailing could never be over saturated.. there are too many cars to be detailed.. theres competition in EVERYTHING.... EVERYTHING is over saturated... If your not passionate about detailing then it ls not for you " generally speaking" therefore it will become more of an job thats interesting and not something you actually like doing... Detailing isn't simple.... And youll know how to price things once you do a couple of cars or trucks during the " shoot yourself in the foot phase"... Being fast , effective, and efficient mingled with optimization is key.

I'm just getting my business off the ground, gonna be mobile to begin with working out of a Kia Sedona. Plans to eventually be Brick & Mortar and be able to design my dream garage. My philosophy with pricing is to research the market and find out the average of what a building lease would cost, and price my mobile service as if I was already paying for the building. My low expenses of being mobile allows me to build a cushion so that when I do decide to get a building I already have the move-in costs covered, and at least a month or two of utilities. This also allows me to not have to raise prices and possibly lose customers.

I know yawl love this guy and I can see why but undercutting others and lowering the market is not the way people who have integrity do things especially in this day and time of social media! You don't undercut other vets who have earned their spot and put in the work. You do free work, you do events, you advertise and show your work across the plethora of social media platforms available for free or take your last bit of cash and bet on yourself! You do peoples cars at work or family members or like I said before do youtube videos of you detailing random strangers when you walk up to their houses like the lawn care guys do or home repair guys do. This jusy screams selfish, entitled and lazy but honestly maybe I'm just an old man who doesn't understand new ways. Rant over. Congrats on your success no matter how you got it.

Can you talk about scenerio: Monday through Friday it’s a beautiful sunny day but sat is scheduled for rain . So nobody books that week because sat rain is gonna dirty the car. What do we do to still sell details during the week ??
