I am so happy to see Steve Taylor still singing! Love his music ✨
Taking the time to document these memories are so important and more people should be posting videos of this… this is real life. This is what shapes a true family
This is a precious video ❤️
This guy is amazing 🙌🙌
Good start on interview of living history. If you do more of these have questions prepared...look for traditions of the era...dating rules...how to discipline childen...did brothers serve in the war...and such. Every time an old person dies its like a library has burned down.
😮😮😮 WOW
Thanks for sharing! Love this singer!
I still have my beat up vinyl of i want to be a clone! Steve has definitely been part of my life for a long time...
Harris Dorothy Taylor Kevin Garcia Edward
I remember my first times listening to Brother Keith Green’s music ministry and Second Chapter of Acts… Matthew Ward. Praise God and my Lord Jesus for my salvation through his death and Resurrection and via this music. I rocked for Jesus! 🥰🥰👍👍❤️❤️✝️🎶
So much talent and yet he always left it for God & never did any worlly songs like almost everyone does😢 Amen!!!
Right on. This is really special. Thanks
From the Matthew Ward Toward Eternity album.
Amazing!!!! Thanks for sharing this!
was that Wayde Janes on bass?
No, it's John Mark Painter filling in
My FAVORITE Christian singer!!!
Matthew is so incredibly talented! Grew up listening to him & his sisters in the 70's! My mom had their first record & when I got older, HS age my sister & I REALLY got into them. They are still one of my top favorite Christian artists along with Chuck Girard/Love Song/ Keith Green/ Andre Crouch/ Barry McGuire! Thanks for posting- I somehow found this last nite❤
I wish there was high quality recordings of Matthew, he has such a great voice!
His 1979 album Toward Eternity includes this song
I know Matthew Ward from Fire By Nite 1986 Rock n Roll never die always will be ALIVE
He’s so gifted with that voice! Thank you for posting!
What happened to the full-length version of this video (where he was speaking more at the beginning?)
Anointed 🙏🏽❤️
I remember when this was released. Good memories.
Steve Taylor is an incredible performer.
I noticed they were filming from the stage. Does anyone know if / when they might release the video?
I was in the front row. A concert video filmed by Steve's students was in the works depending on the quality of the footage obtained. But it's been about 10 months so not sure about the ETA.
@@treyshaver5752 thanks I really hope they release that. What an amazing show. I drove from florida, My brother flew in from California. Once in a lifetime show.
❤
Criminally underrarted....Seriously, Matthew can sing WAY better than his secular contemporaries. Imagine Journey with this voice....I'm glad he's on the Lord's side!
Steve had an incredible voice all his own.
@@RS54321 oh definitely and also Robert Fleishman before Steve - but Matthew Ward may be my favorite all-time singer :)
Buen grupo
I was there. front row. bucket list.
Ben, it was great to meet you--I didn't connect the dots when we were hanging out with Bart & Joel--then later my son, Connor told me, "Dad, I think that's the guy who sings "Wavewalker". Haha! Blessings.
Wow que recuerdos
Epic night
He has very amazing voice. I can't believe I've never heard of him.
Matthew was one third of the CCM sibling group Second Chapter of Acts in the 70s and 80s. You would not likely know of him unless you were into Christian music, as he almost never performed or recorded anything else. A notable exception, from the same year (1983) as this video, is a duet with Donna Summer called Love Has A Mind Of Its Own. Look that up, it's worth a listen. Matthew is still active in Christian music, singing in concert occasionally. 2nd Chapter split up in 1988.
Wow. The guy can sing!
Dear God this man a beast. That voice is Amazing.
This song is great in concert!
May I kick as much ass as ST when I am in my 60's.
Oh I wish I would have gone! 😢 TY for the superb video!
You're welcome. At some point they plan to release a concert film. Steve had his film students capturing everything.
What an incredible voice. It's almost like Steve Perry and Stevie Wonder had a child LOL
Matthew was a fan of Stevie Wonder and emulated elements of his style vocally. (IMO it's one of those occasions where the sequel is better than the original movie...)
I want to hear more songs from this concert!!!! This is INCREDIBLE!!!!!!

I think the real question is, who is this Rad Brad person? lol
I lived in Nashville from August 1989 to December 1998, and there are precious few things from that time there that I really miss: Chez Jose, Shaking Family, being young marrieds with Kathleen, and... Chagall Guevara. Whatever you've heard about the legend of Chagall, trust me: it's all true. I met them in by happenstance in Perkins Restaurant on 21st Ave across from Vanderbilt one time after they'd finished a show. Loaded in and out a couple of times for them after that. Great guys, all. I still have the cassette demo of "Tale O' The Twister," and, I believe, "Escher's World," and "Murder In The Big House." I think either Steve or Dave passed it to me. Kathleen and I did our time, got (more or less) what we came for, and left. Crazy good, turbulent, uproarious, hopeful times. Eventually, though, it just didn't feel like home anymore.
Wow, I wish the audio was better. His runs are amazing!!! Incredible tenor voice, flawless and seemingly effortless singing.
This is from a 1983 concert involving 2nd Chapter and Michael and Stormie Omartian, and it was released as a double album...on which of course the audio IS better. It's worth hunting for... Incidentally Matthew is still active in Christian music, singing in concert occasionally. And his voice is still tops.
@@stevetournay6103 Good to know-thanks for the info!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Did they play Monkey Grinder? I once played that to a Denver Seminary class on media-era apologetics -- as an exercise in listening closely to culture -- and asked students to propose interpretations of the lyrics. The results were mixed, as you would expect. I wish I had recorded that for Steve Taylor.
They did. They also had a film crew there and plan to release at least some of it as a concert film.
Anyone else want to see some metabolism tests on Steve Taylor? Still a relevant question as the years go by. ;-)
Yes Thanks :)
Thank you for this!
Awesome video! Thank you 🎸🎶❤️✅
