Terminal Velocity and Resistive Force
มุมมอง 6378 หลายเดือนก่อน
Terminal Velocity and Resistive Force problems are an IFYKYK kind of physics problem. Also known as Drag Force problems. This video goes over easy steps for a full solution. We begin by writing an equation that can be used to solve for velocity, then derive an expression for terminal velocity, and finally solve for v as a function of time. Position, velocity and acceleration vs time graphs are ...

Can this inverse tangent trick work on any problem ??
I am truly the worst at Physics, and I have asked many people to explain this particular concept to me, but I still didn't understand it entirely, this video changed that entirely. I searched on TH-cam to look for a better resource for help on my homework. I was astonished to find this to be the first one to pop-up, so I gave it a try thinking that it was not going to help whatsoever. I was quickly baffled by how good, and precise this was to the homework that I had been struggling to do. This was truly a God-sent and was not something that I was expecting to find. Great work, and thank you so much to "How To Physics" for teaching and showing these concepts to me in a visual and quit simple way; astonishing the results that you can get when you find someone who is really, truly, passionate at this subject and also takes the time to explain this. I personally wish that "How To Physics" was my Physics teacher!! Such a God-sent. I LOVE THIS RESOURCE AND I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE AND EVERYONE!!!!! I NOW UNDERSTAND THIS THANKS TO "How To Physics"!!!!!!!!!
You deserve a follow for that.. m x a is more like m x delta v / delta t or simply delta p / delta t .. y i keep forgeting that acceleration is the differenc in speed and time than you don need any other formula It is resonable to say that F = p / t like a = v / t without delta??
I solved this a different way and for my angle, I ended up getting cot θ = -1.128 and I still got -41.6 degrees as the answer.
I spent about 3-5 hours overnight stressed out and trying to figure this out in the simplest, shortest, and quickest possible way, lol 😆 Btw, you did a better job of explaining it than the Chemistry tutor guy.
In summary, for a Position Versus Time Graph, analyzing the graph from left to right, positive slope means moving right, up, north, and/or east, and negative slope means moving left, down, south, and/or west? The graph is only decreasing when reaching a minimum/maximum point (slope zero) and increasing when leaving a minimum/maximum point (slope zero)?
Also, what if I am given a multiple choice question where I am given several varieties of motion graphs and I need to determine which one of the graphs is slowing down? There was only one of the motion graphs that I found tricky. It was the acceleration to time graph where it had a constant horizontally flat line in the positive direction. How would I know if that graph is speeding up or slowing down? Could it be either one of the two?
THE BEST EXPLANATION OF THIS TOPIC IN THIS APP PERIOD.
just finished this whole series and want to say this is really helpful . do u have more video coming up for AP physics c mech? i think one more thing u can do , if u can , is to put the units and all their categories in order like AP physics c mech course. so 2.1 would be center of mass and so on for other units. can u do that? it'd be helpful
น่าแปลกใจ ที่วีดีโอคุณภาพดีๆแบบนี้ คนดูน้อยจัง 👋 ทักทายจาก เอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้
The equations are so funny lol. This was really helpful thank you!
Thanks!
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! I get it now~~! Thank U!!
No problem!
But if the friction force is greater than the horizontal applied force, shouldn’t it not move at all?
Force does not tell us whether something is moving, it tells how the motion of an object is changing. The friction force being greater tells us that the motion of the box is slowing down. If the friction force was lesser that would tell us the box is speeding up. If the friction force was equal that would tell us the box is moving with constant velocity. Hope this helps!
As an overthinker, the detail helped SO MUCH
Hey, Can you make a video explaining Kinematics 9th grade level IGCSE ?
I'll look into this!
@HowToPhysics Please do, I'll give you its syllabus Speed time Graphs, distance time, velocity time how to detect Acceleration, Constant speed etc in graphs. Free fall without air resistance Neutons first and second law and force the graphs should be 1d
You probably have more experience so if you want to add more things from IGCSE 9th grade level of kinematics add it!
where did u get 65 degrees? its not even on the given.

Thank you for the explanation, you're the perfect teacher. I'm glad to have found this video
Thanks!
Thank you!
No problem!
What graphing calculator do you recommend for ap physics c mechanics. I’m really lost i dont know what to get
Ti-83 or higher. Ti-84+ CE seems to be the most popular.
BEST PHYSICS TEACHER. Wayyyyyyyy better than flipping physics. Really helpful. Can't thank you enough.
Wow, that's high praise. Thanks!
Where did a 100 come from? Cause I was taught that you have to multiply 10kg x Gravity. So 10kg x 9.8 = 98N
These videos are made with the AP Physics test in mind. That test allows students to use g=10 m/s^2 so they can solve problems a bit faster.
@@HowToPhysics omg thanks for the clarification I was using 9.8 and I was stressing over my answer hahah
You are too good sir
Thanks!
God, I am such an idiot, thank you so much for helping me practice. I am such a visual learner, the graphics help out so much. God bless you
No problem!
I'm taking a summer class in physics and this cleared up soo many things for me. Thanks for the help, I'm subscribing!
Glad I could help!
dude thank you so mush
Glad this helped!
While making video first swallow your saliva and speak
Noted.
i've literally been trying to understand this the whole day.. i watched soo many videos but this is the one that really explained it in a way i can grasp... thank you so much
Glad it helped!
This was so clear and easy to follow, thank-you so much!
