Fascinating. I know there is also a glitch that effectively turns off stress as well. During my initial testing I somehow managed to recruit 4 copies of the marine in the first mission, if that could be applied to a rescued physician that would be huge, but I was never able to replicate it. Would be interesting for a glitched run, but I personally prefer glitchless :)

Nothing concrete, just an estimate in my head based on how long it would take to run down, sit through dialogue, loot the crate, and go back to the battle room.

I haven't tried it on easy mode, but it would definitely save some time due to faster kills. You would be able to keep more command points for important moments to really blitz down some of the larger enemies. You could also save some menuing time by skipping some levelups once you have an adequate power level. It would also be more stable due to less chance of dying and having to reload. Nightmare routing is in progress though :) Looking forward to that struggle.

@@ErrorOfRutoYT lol well with speed runs I think easy mode would be the most interesting. You could run lower level marines and maybe even few of them to save ammo and rest days. I could see a lot of creativity in it.

@@guitarwithjamesoffical Perhaps. I have some ideas for cutting time in levelups on medium still, but ultimately more interested in nightmare than easy.

I haven't come across any that would be useful for a speedrun yet, but I'm sure there are at least OOB and wall/door clips possible. I don't generally look for glitches myself since I prefer glitchless runs, so it is just tagged as such so that it is properly categorized when someone inevitably finds some game breaking glitch that results in a different route. There were some interesting glitches that I stumbled upon early that may have been addressed in the 8/1 patch, such as marine duplication. I never managed to recreate that one, though I didn't spend much time on it.

@@ErrorOfRutoYT I’m trying to finish the game with only two marines at a time. It would be a cool category. Aliens double dragon … anyway only two makes it harder and the aliens a bigger threat on easy.

@@guitarwithjamesoffical sounds like my kind of bad idea lol. Would be pretty fun to play casually like that, speedrunning would get pretty rough due to limited command points and only 2 sentries at a time. Are you doing like sergeant/recon?

Glad you enjoyed it :) Smartgun would be nice, but gathering materials is pretty tight in my route, so I can't afford them. Also I tend to deal with most fights with grenade spam which I would lose with the smartgun. I played around with taking a couple gunners just for the improved suppressing fire, but it ended up not being worth it due to said grenade spam.

@@nofear6046 Definitely doing more runs :) Just did one yesterday that was looking really good until the atmoshperic processor mission went sideways. Gonna try to get Medium down to 4:30 and also working on routing a nightmare speedrun.

Yeah, honestly on this difficulty it would be hard to hit the day limit, so its not likely to matter. Been playing around with routing a nightmare speedrun and the days are a lot tighter due to longer infirmary stays.

Yeah its a fun game! Looking forward to refining the route.

Thanks. I eventually discovered the left/right part, not sure if I ever noticed time of day changes to population, but that would explain a lot.

@@ErrorOfRutoYT Especially in Terminir and Jundar cities you can end up missing a lot of vendors depending on time of day. I need to go back and watch your whole stream of Aidyn. Loving your content!!

lol OBS was reporting 60%+ frame drops, but it ended up not looking that bad so we went with it. smoothed out eventually.
