Hi pal! I've just released my new video, shaped around a genuine crime documentary and demanding a crucial 14-hour commitment. Your feedback is precious, so don't hesitate to share your thoughts, positive or negative. Take care, and I'm looking forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the video. Do you always have your squeeze chute there with no alley way? If so I assume you push one at a time as you work them. Does that work ok for you?

Phillip Doshier no, it's all portable & gets moved a couple times per year depending on where we need it. when working the cattle I'll run em in 3 at a time for calves & 2 at a time for cows. catch the first one in the squeeze & the other 2 are locked in the slam gates behind the chute. as the one in the squeeze is released I open the tailgate to let the next one in. it works ok for our small herd. I'd like to have an alleyway with no back stops but can't justify the expense. I'll probably build a homemade one in the future as we expand the herd.

@@silentHangus Thanks. Looking at redoing our corral. We have about 40 cows and the calves/bull. We don't have level ground and our corral uses one side of the barn so trying to get ideas of what to do. Thinking Bud Box but I can't go 90 degrees on the exit. It would have to be parallel with the gate. I'm hoping that will work fine. Will probably put up some portable panels at first to try it. Never really thought about running them through just to get used to the system.

Phillip Doshier to some it may seem like a waste of time to run animals thru the chute without catching them but in the long run you'll be saving yourself time when working them. while chute training calves I like to feed them their grain first & then have their water waiting in the return alley. then it gets burned into their brain that there's a reward for going thru & not a negative memory.

That makes sense but please record and post next time you work them. Otherwise looks great.

Gabiella Richards it was cold and windy that day but it's important to run em thru for a few days in a row without catching so they learn not to be afraid of the chute. then when you need to catch em it's a lot easier.

N S took the original concrete breaking tip that was wore out & had a local welding shop fab up a square box with some gussets on the end of that original tip so changing between post hammer & the new concrete breaking tip is simple.
