Headcorn Parachute Club Farewell to its Islander
Headcorn Parachute Club had an emotional farewell to its Islander of 39 years. The aircraft flew for the first time in 1969 and now returns to Britten-Norman for refurbishment before finding a new owner.

Britten-Norman Islander flight from Papa-Westray to Westray in the Orkney Islands, Scotland. The worlds shortest commercial flight.
When I was working on Cunard's ship Queen Victoria our home port was Southampton (I was a regular visitor at Solent Sky aviation museum, great place and nice staff there). I regularly saw Trislanders flying over the ports, very distinctive aircraft, impossible to miss it. I love the Islander but I wish that Trislander would be made again.
Cool plane! I have seen lots of them flying from Oban North connel airport because I live near oban in Scotland.
As an Islander pilot myself, I would like to know how it is possible to fly the aircraft without Avgas, if you say you are a zero carbon airline.
Would have loved if it could've been converted to a turboprop cause I've always loved the design.
is air Alderney still continuing with their Trislander order or has that fallen through
The Trilander has long since been out of production!
@@greg4712The order is for a single refurbished Trislander. Plus I remember seeing it somewhere but can’t find it anymore but BN would restart production if they got an order of 5 new Trislanders.

The BN2's exhaust note is so iconic to the point where theres no other plane that matches it. So glad that this beautiful twin engined aircraft is still produced to this day.

This plane is my father's favorite, he likes to tell his greatness, especially when flying in montainous areas in north Sumatra Indonesia.

I flew on one of these the other day. It's now my favorite aircraft. What a pleasure to fly on. I long to fly on it again.
