The best I could tell, that did not have the leaves on the stock ? Another video maintains the Post 64 era, started the leaves on the stock. Is that true? . . . Another video says the difference between the two time frames, pre and post 64, is basically nothing. . . . Anyone's thoughts?

Got one of these that was a bring back and the owner had chromed the complete rifle and painted the original stock a matte Gray. Looks so good that people think it's a new rifle!!

Bullshit. That barrel did not blow up just because it was Damascus. It blew up for a reason yes but not just because it was a Damascus barrel. I own and restore many. And have them proofed by Birmingham or London proof houses all the time. Stick to selling guns. Sincerely, A gun barrel maker of 40 years.

I thought this was gonna be way more complex.

Ive two damascus shotguns and fired boxes of modern smokeless through them. One from 1883 (more like 1888) and a hardware swore American gun co 12 gauge from 1889 One we fired turket shot with both barrels and it handles it fine. The ones to watch out for are the Belgian shotguns heard their weak in the barrels. My American gun co double is by far my favorite and the one ive fired the most. Modern ammo wont make them explode outta nowhere thats a old wives tale. If it exploded it was going to blow up anyway.
