I know that it is canon that Corvo beats Daud, but Daud was a broken man at that point and he was not like his former self “The Knife of Dunwall” at all. Daud was encouraging Corvo the whole fight with phrases like “You’re not fighting Lady Boyle” and “Strike harder.” The fight seemed to me like a former martial arts master trying to pass the torch to his student. I think “Royal Protector” vs “Knife of Dunwall” would be a lot closer if not an even match where they both mortally wound the other. They’re both so superior that they cannot exist in the same place because they’re both leaders and Alphas in every group they’re in.

I find it a crime that this video doesn't have more views, this animation is amazing and the fight was beautiful! I love the mix of supernatural abilities that Daud and Corvo used. Corvo possessing a Whaler to get the critical hit on Daud was brilliant! That last scene where Corvo cries over Jessamine hits hard because it makes you realize that Corvo never really got the chance to properly mourn Jessamine over the course of Dishonored 1. He was tortured and imprisoned in Coldridge for 6 months, and even when he got out the loyalists immediately put him to work doing their dirty deeds. He never had time to do so, but here he finally comes face to face with the man who helped ruin his life. Burrows and Campbell planned it, but Daud was the one to stab the knife into the one of two people Corvo cared about most. The reflection of Jessamine's face on Corvo's mask was a nice touch as all those raw emotions came flooding back at once and Corvo made the hardest decision of his life. Him taking off the mask was his way of finally grieving over Jessamine after so long, as he needed to grieve as Corvo Attano and not the 'assassin' Burrows made him out to be. This was a wonderful video!

I always have this moral struggle when playing Dishonored: I either kill everybody or I just don't kill anyone. It doesn't make sense in my head that Corvo would easily kill simple guards, whalers and other enemies and just allow the ones who really destroyed his life to live. Even if he punishes them. If Corvo doesn't kill the Lord Regent and Daud, he has no reason to kill anyone else in the game out of revenge. Of course this is just a lore thing in my head and doesn't affect anything. He could just be batshit crazy or change his morals along the game if you wish to give it an explanation.
