That is awesome! I have no regrets about getting this plant, even though the prices for Thai Constellation have dropped here in Europe, and I ended up overpaying for it two years ago. I wish you patience as your plant settles into its new environment and reveals its true character and beauty!

I bought this Monstera with three leaves in January 2023. I think it was a top cutting from a fairly mature plant, so it's hard to say how old it was. But I've had this Monstera for one year and 10 months. I know this for sure because I have photos from right after I bought it and when the new leaf started growing. It currently has 13 leaves and is getting ready for its second winter.

If each new leaf of the Monstera is larger than the previous one, it's a good sign that the plant is happy. You are doing everything right. Additional lighting is very important for variegated plants. They can't be lacking in anything, as it immediately and irreversibly affects the quality of the leaves. Sometimes, they simply don't develop, leaving a gap on the stem.

Yes, but my grow light has a timer with only two options: 6 or 12 hours. After reading your comment, I went ahead and switched it to 12 hours. You can never give a Monstera too much light! 😅💡💰

@@1000and1plant one of mine has a 3, 9, 12 timer and the other one doesn’t have a timer. I usually just keep them set to 12 hours 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m looking at getting a different kind of grow light for my monstera and white and pink princesses. They will all stay together this winter around a little humidifier too.

Thank you for the kind feedback. Actually, I can't boast about all my Hoyas. So far, all my Hoya kerrii are growing like crap. 😄

I completely agree with every word. After the fourth completely white leaf grew and withered, I pruned the Monstera back to the leaf with a green part. A month later, a replacement side shoot appeared, but again with minimal green. I decided not to continue experimenting and removed the plant, as I consider it non-viable and see no point in trying to nurse it or propagate it.

Нет она на ручном поливе, причем заливаю сразу лейку литровую. Я думаю, что там корни уже вместо фитиля повылазили из отверстий в дней и пьют из кашпо. Я забыла проверить и показать, что там твориться.

Точно! Аватар - один из моих любимых фильмов и дерево жизни там впечатляющее. У меня, конечно, просто сосновая ветка там, обвешанная Церопегией :)

I wish you good luck! Try not to miss a few waterings. Once, I forgot about it and let my dracaena dry out, and it dropped the leaves it had taken so long to grow. Those bare lower branches never grew back. Only after some time did new shoots hide my mistake.

Hey there! Sorry for the delayed response. Coir mixed with compost can be a good option if you can't get specific products. A little root exposure when transplanting can help the Stromanthe adjust smoothly. Personally, I never trim the roots when transplanting because I am very careful to protect them from mechanical damage, which can lead to rot. Are you planning to leave the plant in the flowerbed over winter? Isn't it cold in Houston during winter? Stromanthe prefers warm temperatures, ideally between 65-80°F (18-27°C). The plant must be protected from cold snaps or temperatures dropping below 50°F (10°C). Good luck with your planting!

Спасибо за внимание и комплименты, очень рада такому отзыву. Мои Алоказии зимой уходят в спячку и долго просыпаются. Я уже смирилась, что это растения "одного листа" :) Хотя именно Шкура Дракона успешно перенесла пересадку в мрте и обрастает после зимы. Растение разрослось, из одного стало пять в одном горшке и наверное поэтому листья стали мельче. Я покажу свои Алоказии, когда будет что показать :) У меня тенденция отказа от этих растений. К сожалению, их очень любит паутинный клещ, Из года в год это изматывет.

Thank you for your input; I value it greatly. Indeed, understanding the individual requirements of each plant is essential. As for the humidity levels, I'm uncertain how my plants would respond to anything lower than 45%. Generally, my home maintains a humidity level around 50% for most of the year. However, I'm confident that Sedums, Senecio, and Ceropegia are quite resilient and should not be negatively impacted by lower humidity levels.
