First let me have you know that the grave is designed for MORTALS - Gen 2:7; 3:19 who are DEAD and NOT FOR SPIRITS like Satan, whom you erroneously claimed will be put in the grave because spirits defile both place, space and time. I hope you are not referring to the bottomless pit as the grave because IT IS NOT. Rather, the "bottomless pit" is a symbolic expression of "confinement" or "condition of impotence" or "inactivity". Just like those falling angels are imprisoned in Tartarus that they had no access to heaven anymore, so Satan shall be placed in the bottomless pit. In fact, the imprisonment of those falling angels symbolizes how Satan will be imprisoned during the One Thousand Years Reign of Christ. God Almighty has never killed any spirit till this day and no spirit was killed in the Bible. That is why the Battle of Armageddon is referred to as the greatest battle ever known to mankind because in that battle spirits will be annihilated. If the bottomless pit means the grave as you are suggesting, why should Satan need chains again? The Bible says all in the graves are dead (lifeless). So why should a lifeless man be chained? It is that same condition those fallen angels are, Satan will be put through during the One Thousand Years Reign of Christ! - Rev 20:1-3. In summary, in Rev 20:1-3, the "bottomless pit" is a spiritual condition of confinement, impotence, or inactivity. The "chain" symbolizes "restriction" or "cutting off all forms of Satan's antics against God's children". For example, when Satan told God to let him touch Job and Job will curse Him to His face. God allowed him but put a "chain" (symbolic) on Job's life such that Satan couldn't take it. If you read Rev 20:7, the Bible says Satan will be "loosed" out of his prison. Not resurrected from the grave! So the best thing to say is that the devil will be imprisoned in the bottomless pit, NOT THE GRAVE as the grave is meant for mortals not spirits! We learn everyday.
