Where I am from, Peking Duck isn‘t easily available, and a lot of Europeans have never tried it before. Since it‘s my first time, I want to try the most authentic one which is in China😄 For me it’s a hype, but a never-ending hype!😆

But in some culinary traditions, like with roasted duck, the sugar isn’t meant to mask the flavor but to contrast and complement it. I guess it depends on whether you value the pure, unaltered taste or enjoy the interplay of contrasting flavors. It’s all a matter of perspective and preference 😄 So maybe try it and see if you like it.

That sounds like a fun way to enjoy it, but in a setting like this, where so much care and love has gone into the dish, it’s worth taking the time with the dish. But you are right the taste is the same 😊 and I loved it 😍

@@svenstravelchannel actually in China if you are not in a business meeting or some other formal type of places, we dont care things like dress code or something like that. dont worry. we have other type of table etiquette, but generally speaking, just dont make a mess you are OK.

Hey there! Thank you from your comment🙏🏼😊 I actually got that soup but didn’t showed it in detail in the video. I did some research on the internet before going there and many people said it’s good and authentic and I really liked the taste. I was first thinking of going to Quan Ju De because they have the oldest restaurant for Peking duck in Beijing but then I did some online research and decided to go to the other one. Maybe next time I try the Quan Ju De one!

In North America, they are called Jujubes or Chinese Dates (Ziziphus jujuba). They are not related to Apples, and if dried do taste somewhat like dates.

The little look alike apples are Chinese winter dates. Actually it’s a bit crunchy and texture like apples. It’s also have health benefits which is good for the heart and bones. It’s very delicious and also cheap in China.

Yeah I was really surprised to get a replacement luggage! They even took in my broken luggage to dispose it. I was really devastated by the taxi scam in Guangzhou and this really saved my day!

I agree! I was thinking of going to QuanJude first, but then decided to go to Shiji Minfu and I wasn‘t dissapointed! The duck was so good and the service was great too!
