haha Ex Royal Airforce? I had the pleasure to fly with one of your guys years ago when he was on a cross training opportunity flying the F/A-18 in California. I was back seat and was a little uneasy about my first time in the Hornet at the hands of a Brit lol! Thors Hammer, so I just like to do legos man. Its a way for me to take a break from the tech. I like the marvel and Harry Potter movies so each year I get a lego for xmas, last year was Thors Hammer. I have Thanos Gauntlet too.

I get so many comments about the trees👍 We still are not a fan of the tearing down of the trees to build a new section but the developer does require new trees to be planted on every homesite and they try to keep trees in place as much as possible.

Destin is right across the Bay to the South from Niceville, back then there was no bridge, now there is the mid bay bridge that connects Niceville to Destin.

@@RickGonzalezRealtor yes, I remember it now. In the late sixties all the action was in Fort Walto Beach . A few years years later I returned and it seemed like all the life had been sucked out of Fort Walton Beach and had crossed the bridge and settled in Destin.

People of Freeport are starting to get better at using "The Zipper" technique and letting people merge...i see it all the time when taking my kids to school in the morning 👍

Totally agree with you on the lack of Big Box stores and Big City conveniences...but lets be honest with only 12,500 people within City limits its not like we are a BIG City. As we grow more conveniences and options will come. The City Planner just announced that there are 2 hotels, 2 sit down restaurants, a coffee shop, an oil change service center, a new community center, more retail and commercial centers, 2 new gas stations...that's a lot for little 'ol Freeport.

@@RickGonzalezRealtor okay well let me know when Freeport it's going to get a Walmart another grocery store a Lowe's or home Depot a tractor supply a hospital some more food options DeFuniak population is now supposedly lower than Freeport but DeFuniak has a lot more options than Freeport!!

@@user-qz8km2qr8g Walter try to remember those numbers are from 2020 census, that's 4 years ago...Back then Freeport had 5000 residents. As far as Big Box retailers I cant say when they will be coming to Freeport if at all...we have Walmart in Defuniak, Santa Rosa Beach and Niceville...not sure if they will build another one in Freeport 🤷🏻‍♂. Freeport is not for everyone Walter, if you are happy in DFS I am happy for you. Appreciate you watching the video and commenting 👍

@@RickGonzalezRealtor I live in Bruce not DeFuniak I graduated from Freeport high School in 1990 I work in DeFuniak at the county shop public works and according to the US census Freeport population for 2023 is just over 7,000 people so where do you get 12,500 apparently you know something the feds don't know that's a lot of people considering that Freeport only has one grocery store and DeFuniak with a population of just over 7,000 has four grocery stores!!!

Patrick, thanks for the comment. My dad retired out of Hurlburt Field back in the late 80's. True that storms are always a concern but right here in the our area we have been very lucky. Since I have been back the last dozen plus years we have not experienced a major storm impact. All storms have been East or West of us with us experiencing very minimal damage and inconvenience.

@@RickGonzalezRealtor I got curious to see and it looks like they just moved to the other side of the bridge; back in the day the side which is now closed off was where everyone swam. There's probably still platforms in the trees visible, and there were atleast 3 platforms of different heights, and a rope.

@@mistyvaughn6356 Now with Grady Park being updated I see a LOT of people go there to swim and hangout, I call it Freeport Beach lol.

Hey Michael, thanks for the comment. Currently Buxtons Mill, The Trails and Park View are all closing out with a few lots/homes left. New development is beginning on the South end of Hammock Bay closer to the Bay access. Currently there are lots available in "Steam Boat Landing" with more lots coming soon in future neighborhoods. I'm going to be a doing a video soon with updates from the last Home Owners Meeting which included new amenities, the Brewery, Permanent food truck pads and bay side clubhouse. Yes, ONLY LSV's are allowed, electric golf carts are not allowed on the paths, they must be street legal and registered as LSV (Low Speed Vehicle)

Look forward to the upcoming video. IYO, who are the more reputable new home builders currently building or expected to be building (in those coming soon areas)? I.e. quality, etc. I’m sure builders have to meet certain criteria to be able to build there (like a deer moss creek in Niceville) but do some stand out v. the competition- again IYO.

@@michaeljohnston2636 Great question. All of the builders have to submit their plans to the developer (He still runs the HOA) for approval. Currently the builders are Holiday Builders, DSLD, Truland Homes and Randy Wise. Randy Wise is a local builder while all of the others are larger builders. DSLD and Truland are relatively new to the area with only a couple of communities. Holiday has been around for the last 6-10 years in this area. DSLS, Truland and Randy Wise are comparable when it comes to fit an finish it. would just depend on your style and floor plan needs. I purchased a Holiday home 6 years ago and love it. We loved the style of Randy Wise but the floorplans available didn't work for us (3 kids and work from home) We do love the Truland Homes too. If we had to buy from one of the builders now it would probably be Truland.

Actually just found out another new neighborhood is being released in Hammock Bay, called Aurora built by Holiday Homes

🤔 You're suprised THEY (who is they) LET me love here?? Nobody LET me live here, I chose to buy a house here...my house has appreciate almost 300% in the last 6 years and I love living here. Still a fast growing county with beautiful beaches, amazing military community and a vacation resort market that is thriving. Its not for everyone so completely ok with you buying somewhere else...we will keep this area for the cool kids 😎

Well it is Florida so we have our fair share of critters. Deer, fox, occasional bear, Alligators, Turkey vultures, snakes, opossums, you name it we got it! But we all get a long for the most part…and if not, plenty of folks enJoy hunting 😉

There are homes on larger lots in Hammock Bay, it may just take a little patience in finding the right one. I'm selling a home right now in my neighborhood of Brighton in Hammock Bay that sits on just shy of 1/3 acre and I know there are homes with larger lots. There are just many many more homes on smaller lots.

@@MultiTroy63 We dont have a police force in Freeport we have Walton County Sheriffs Dept. I've been here for almost 6 years and I've never had an issue. I'm sure if want their attention they will def give it to you but our WCSO have always been great in my experience. I appreciate everything the Sheriffs Dept does to keep our County safe!
