We need people to care this much about Manitobas mixed woodlands. The governments claim to care about the environment and say they will plant 2 billion trees by 2035... why not stop taxing farmers for having trees and give (tax?)incentives to keep them or they will keep pushing them down by the hundreds of acres everyday! It is quite upsetting and extremely sad!!

I have fond memories of this area as a child. An old hunting camp and a legendary man nicknamed Sox or Socks not sure how it was spelled.

I wish our provincial government took this practice in a ecological health perspective and not economics standpoint.

Well done. Which are the 'Deep Rooted Trees' you mention near the beginning as being more resistant to blowdown?

I like the idea of doing thing small scale and eco friendly. I really like otter ponds initiatives. but I do have to ask the question how much did that bridge cost. One thing to experiment but to try to turn a profit if a bridge cost $3000 is another. I make some atv trails and I know getting rock in and etc get very expensive. Man I wish things were not so expensive to do.
