What tune are they playing when Robert joins in? It's too elegant and distinctive for me to shrug off.
Downtime. from his Double Booked album!
This is some of the most intense guided improvisation I've heard in a while, if it is that, either way still very intense.
I'll definitely be buying that album soon, thanks for the info.
nevermind, just figured out that billy williams is the drummer. Awesome musicians!

@Mccritical80 i think it's an 18
Yep - My son and I just saw Billy here in STL together with Cyrus Chestnut on piano, John Faddis on trumpet, and the lovely Ms. Linda Oh on bass. Wow....just, wow. They played two nights at J.A.T.B. on Washington, as well as several high schools. John gave a quick lesson to my son on trumpet. Not only brilliant musicians, but just fantastic ambassadors, role models, and teachers to our young people. They are definitely "passing it forward." Thanks Billy, John, Cyrus, and Linda !
Well Im glad you guys like this clip. I have more of this concert on my harddrive. Same spot same quality.

The transition from solo to song was so flawless, along with everything else. Incredible in every aspect.
is derrick hodge playing alongside him or what??? how is he getting that bass sound????
Chris Dave est juste un batteur hors du commun! magnifique!!
I just sat in on a jam session w/ him today and the dude is so AMAZING. I don't even have the words...AWE-STRUCK.

@beats1969 are you serious.
gretchen parlato? hahaha. nice playing chief.
@beats1969 u just don't get it... every drummer has their own voice and statment. If u can't learn to appreciate what this man has to say on the drums then why should anyone bother listening to your opinions.
