It's been a long time since my last post, and so much has happened. In the past week, I fully ruptured my achilles tendon a week before my long vacation to Korea. I had plans scheduled through the end of the year that I had to completely cancel. This is my second achilles rupture in the last year. It left me asking God "why"? What did I do to deserve this?
And then I sat alone in my room in silence for the first time in a long time. I sat for hours. And the dark thoughts racing over me, telling me that I am not loved and that I am alone grew louder and louder. They became so loud that I was left sitting in my seat (since I can't stand or walk) just staring at the wall. And then I got the urge to sit down and worship because, what else am I gonna do while I'm immobilized and alone?
God wanted intimacy with me. And He wanted me to know that I did nothing wrong. I did not "deserve" this situation. And as I worshipped through my emotions and anxiety, I started feeling grateful for the very breath in my lungs. I was grateful for music, and for the ability to worship regardless of how imperfect it might be.

It’s easy for us to know that we are loved when we are close to Him/doing “well”, but it’s a fight to know we are loved (as much) in our weaknesses. I remember a pastor saying how it’s awesome to know that God loves us regardless of our weaknesses, but we also need to know that God loves our weak love; our weak love is still highly regarded by Him. Thank you for this set and sharing your season!
