It’s expensive, but that’s HD. I would not use an aftermarket kit for this though. You could just unbolt the original frame and tour pak and run without it, but that’s not a quick operation and you would lose (and have to add) rear turn signals unless you already have the filler or bag lights. Also, you wouldn’t be able to add a passenger back rest without the docking kit. Thanks for watching 👍

WOULD THESE PARTS FIT A 2012 FLTRU? Parts (kits) I've been looking at HD say no ,wont fit,have no Idea what would have changed since then .I need this ,lots of trouble getting on and off over that box now adays ,I bought it new and cant see buying something else.

I would say that they would not fit the 2012 (I had a 2013 FLTRU). The style changed a bit with the Project Rushmore bikes in 2014 - the tour pak is different and the frame may be as well. Docking kit may or may not be the same. Best bet is to go to your local dealer parts dept and get a parts list from them. Bike looks and rides great without the tour pak on - go for it!

Man you're lucky to live near such good riding! I followed your suggestions on my Freeman Map of the area and google maps - will have to make note of this for next time. ​@@Hogdriver88 - here is our ride on 10-5-24. that's me in the yellow airbag vest. a@ 2:40 we come out of some back roads at the Stone Pile on US 19, then go N on 19 to Turners Corner. @3:11 we start up Blood Mtn. @4:20 we stop at Sunrise Gro for gas @5:38 we turn onto the Richard B. Russell Parkway. @ 5:49 we turn off of Alt 75 to take the back way into Helen and Betty's Gen Store, the best kept secret for lunch in Helen and most of N GA!!

Unfortunately yes - this trip was the beginning of August. Most of these areas are probably badly damaged or not even there now.

I rode thru there on Sunday 9-39-24, a day and a half after Helene, then up to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee, GA. I saw maybe two trees down, none on the roads. I then rode US 76 east to Clayton, GA, where i began to see some very minor swollen creeks and a few limbs down, NO flooding, the down 985 back to Atl. North GA dodged a bullet.

YES, please do GO WEST. You would not like it back east. It's terrible. Just awful.

Not bad at all since most of the audio comes directly toward me from the front speakers. But I don’t listen to the radio much anyway - only time I really do is when I’m wearing a helmet with the corded headset.

At least a few times. There are 2 vendors set up in multiple spots. Seems every time I was approaching one the photog was busy doing something else and had to snap out of it and grab the camera quickly. 😂 I didn’t see anything worth buying. Thanks Murt -ride safe!

LOL good catch - yeah closing the lid where I put them for ‘safekeeping’ wasn’t a great idea. They were in the bag - somewhere… The seat bolt is the worst because there’s little room to work in there while holding on to that screw - it always ends up somewhere in the tour pak frame. Thanks - yes, still pleased with these. The ride portion of this video didn’t really do them justice - much better in person. Not too quiet, not too loud - I’m done with loud. I've never tried an Aeropress - looks like a lot of work. This perk was not the easiest either - I think good old Taster's Choice is the way to go for camping. Looking forward to getting back out there soon - I'll let you know if I head back up that way. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

Go for it! I need to get out there again soon, before it gets too warm. For your first trip, keep it simple. All you really need is shelter, water for hydration, and a flashlight or a headlamp… everything else is optional. But the optional stuff makes it more fun.
