No, that is phase changing thermal paste. You don't know what PTM7950 looks like. That is PTM7950 And I just don't get it why people still don't know how air intakes work, taping off that will not absolute affect your thermal but only whine noises, this is just air flow things. There are tons of laptops block every part besides holes directly on the fan while still having great thermal.

Sure you've figured it out by now, I had same problem and just attached my screwdriver to that screw with a drop of Super Glue and it came out

That depends, there are tons of laptops cover every part that is not right below the fan. It doesn't make any difference in terms of thermal. But the fan whining is just a little bit better.

Just for future viewers: I did this following the steps and it was very easy. Just be careful, go slow, and you won't strip any of the screws, etc.

Sorry, I don't know how. But if you have a spare part, I guess it's not far. Maybe not tighten the screws but take them off and disconnect ribbon cables.

@@progun1corn hey i actually learned how to do it myself, its very simple, you don’t have to do anything you did here, all you have to do is get the 4 screws around the screen, and split the screen in two, the back side and the lcd screen side, then just disconnect the wires in between the to halfs and just buy a replacement lcd screen, its much more simple than this, which i thought the process would have been similar but its not

@@progun1corn yes exactly the screen consists of two parts a back side and the lcd side and the only part i removed was the lcd side and there is no need of opening the entire camera but just the 4 screws hold together the back part of the screen and the lcd part of the screen

Yeah, if you are not experienced just take it to official support or camera repair shop

That doesn't matter much though, everyone has different finger size, the best is the one feels most natural.

Hey Jperlman! Literally just replaced mine. Let me know if you need help! Not even necessary to go through all this trouble taking apart the body. Easiest repair ever. I just had to go through the turmoil because the hinge needed to be replaced as well lol

@@JPerlman06 Yes! You'll have to detach it. There are two sets of screws. One on each end. If you turn your lcd screen 90 degrees you'll be able to take off the screws on the side connecting the lcd to the camera. On the other side will be two exposed screws that come right off. Once you do that carefully take a thin piece of plastic (a guitar pick would even work) and slide it through the connecting point of the screen to loosen it up. Start with each corner and it'll come off. It can take a second so just be patient. Then you'll be able to take the screen off and you'll see the board. The ribbon cable will be attached. Carefully take your pick and slowly edge it in and the ribbon cable will come right off. Then the screen will be completey disconnected.

Actually it's just between a string change and I was lazy to actually install the lower 2 lol. After this video I did install them all
