I have a 2001 and it does have that cruise control on it. It is a very nice bike it’s black-and-white lotta chrome on it the only thing I don’t like is the headlight how can I change the headlight out and get an old-fashioned type light put on it, if you can help me out, I would appreciate it and what size of the bug shield do you have on yours?

How would the rebel suit me, ? i'm 5 foot 8 and heavy

The Rebel 250 will do just fine on the interstate as long as you are not carrying a passenger. I am 64, have been riding for nearly 50 years, and owned about 50 bikes, from 250cc to 1500cc Goldwings, large Harleys, and 1800cc Japanese cruisers. 4 of those bikes have been Honda 250 Rebels. 2 bought new and 2 bought used. I now have a 2016, bought new. 2016 was the LAST year for the Rebel 250. I've had it 7 years, it has 1100 miles on it, and has been living room kept. The time will come when I will no longer be able to ride my larger bikes, and that's what I'm saving the Rebel 250 for. There is no place you cannot go on a Rebel 250. I have taken a couple of 5000 mile plus cross country trips on them, on the freeway, at wide open throttle. I was able to keep the speedometer pegged for over 20 miles at the time. 80+ mph. The Rebel 250 engine is designed to not be overstressed at full throttle with stock gearing. You just need to check the oil every time you put gas in it. It does tend to burn oil when run for hours at full throttle. I'm 6' with a 34" inseam, and always found the Rebel 250 a bit cramped. A few years ago, I found a forward controls kit from a company called Blue Collar Bobbers that solved that problem.

I have same exact bike , anybody know why it won't get spark? Uive replaced almost everything. It turns over and sparks once in a while for a minute and then nothing!!!??? Help!!! I'm going crazy!?

Ssss You should / can put a big bore engine ( max legal limit ) 2. Change the sprocket to increase speed and power ( front 14T , Rear 33T) or front 13T rear 34T ) 3. Double barrel carby. 4. A big fuel tank. 5. two leather bags / panniers at the back, should be enough. Good job, good idea.

I have a 2001 model and it really is the perfect starter bike. I have four bikes now including a vintage Harley, a Triumph, and a Honda Shadow, but I'll never sell my Rebel. It's my always-reliable little buddy.

Big bore

I have a big bore kit on mine, everything the bike lacked with headwinds & inclines are now gone! Ive yet to notice much difference in gas mileage either. Highly recommend it! Just be sure to drop 3 teeth on the rear sprocket, increase air flow & spark as well!

If you have a carburetor on a bike you should try running non-ethanol fuel. I run it in all engines with a carburetor. From the weed eater to my 1989 Honda hawk GT 647 haven't had to remove a carb to clean in years!

I just bought the same bike last week. I'm taking lessons on the 23rd of September. I'm in Texas, the bike is in Ohio. My ex-wife has it since new. She comes from a family of bikes owners. So, I feel very comfortable buying from her. Any suggestions will be appropriated. And yes, this will be my first bike. I tried to ride them in the past, I've been on my buddy's bike once or twice in Ohio.

Though a little "blingy" for the classic bike, these systems on chrome and bright aluminum bikes do make thrm MUCH EASIER TO SEE at night. Small bikes are nearly invisible as they are intended as day riders. Most states prohibit blue or red showing to the front or rear on the books. Typically found in vehicle requirements in the state drivers manual. Flashing of any color may ir may not be prohibited, but most officers will tell you to turn off the flashing or strobe effect. The lighting is helpful to other drivers, but the strobing is TERRIBLE to their eyes snd can cause them to hit you or leave their lane out of temporary disorientation. Just like super HID high beams in the face. My wife has terrible disorientation when theres a cluster of modern patrol cars at a scene.
