Oh I do love me a good escape room game! From what little I've seen, I must ask how will I know what is interactable and what is not, because there is no noticable indicator be it mouse icon change, or a small highlight, like during the Catacomes you seem to specifically pick up a certain skull and not another. I have to assume this is because you know which skull to pick up and what skull you can't need to pick up. I can't wait to try out the demo!
Thanks for your comment! You are correct, there isn't a noticeable indicator for what can be picked up. The interactions are similar to The Room series where you test everything to see what moves, what you can pick up, and what doesn't. When designing the puzzles, I had real life escape room puzzles in my mind, and so, for this game, I am going to have the player go and try to find what is needed. In the example you provided, those skulls that I picked up were just a couple in the room. The other skulls in the room are also important, but at a later point in the level.

I don't know what this game is or how to fix your problem . But I got to appreciate the pure optimism of just throwing that shit up on TH-cam shorts and hoping somebody works out.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I was able to get the problem fixed shortly after this happened, but I had a good laugh at myself and wanted to share. Haha.
Thanks for the upload. Google Play must have recently enforced higher API levels because I've been forced to update my target API for one of my games that I'm updating. The reason the one file appears encoded is because it's binary. In contrast to the first file you showed which is readable text (It's YAML). You can force assets to be serialized as YAML instead of binary but it looks like it's going to re-import a bunch of stuff. I don't have the balls to re-import just yet so I'm making a backup and will let you know how it goes once I test it. Edit > Project Settings > Editor > Asset Serialization > Force Text. PS love the Jays hats and just subscribed. I'm an indie dev from Toronto, living in Peterborough ON.
Hey Thanks for the info. Yeah, that makes sense about the encoding. I get the hesitation to re-import. I haven't had to update that game since I posted, so I will make a note of your solution in my notes and also try the next time I am in there making an update. And yeah, I hope the Jays play a bit better next year. I am on the west coast. Vancouver Island. I was able to go see them play in Seattle last summer which was my first MLB game, so that was awesome.
@@MrJazzEntertainment Update - I did the re-import. That part worked fine and didn't cause any issues in my game. Everything was serialized as YAML and I was able to edit it in notepad. Modifying the version to list "34" as my target API level did not resolve the issue. The problem for me, was that the folder "C:\Program Files\Unity\Hub\Editor\2022.3.5f1\Editor\Data\PlaybackEngines\AndroidPlayer\SDK\platforms" does NOT contain the Android 34 API. The solution was to copy the files from "%LocalAppData%\Android\Sdk\platforms" to the directory above. I feel like this should have been the 1st step I should have checked but I don't remember having to do this in the past. Also if anyone has an issue where they can't update the SDK using Unity, I'm curious if running Unity as admin will resolve that. I didn't try it but noticed you need admin rights to write to that folder so worth a shot.

It's dont work for me! Help me please! I changed the filde "projectsettings" with the version 34 and saved it and I have the same "Gradle error" during my "build" I have change the Unity version by : "2022.3.5f1" and the "Gradle still crash!" It's very embarrasing for me! I am a video games's developper, not a software's configurator! Each time the "Gradle crash" I spend more than 1 month to resolve this problem, I hate this shit of "Gradle" !!
Yeah, the Gradle error sucks. I remember getting that error too. Unfortunately, it is different than the API error. I also haven't had to deal with the Gradle error for a while. how you make that fire on torch and candles?
Hey there, the fire for the Torch and Candles were part of an asset package I purchase off the Unity Store from '3DForge' called Fantasy Interiors. However, they are created with two different particle systems and a 'Point' light source. The two different particle systems give the flame a couple of dimensions when the systems are turned on. Additionally, when I am lighting the flames in the game, I am activating the three different game objects, but I am not activating all at the same time. There is a slight delay. I activate one particle system, then the other, then finally the source of light. All of this is over 0.5 seconds.

Hopefully this helps you.

Hey, Thanks! This is an escape room style RPG game where you will go room to room solving puzzles while progressing the story. There will be some suspenseful scenes, but I am not going for horror.
The level is somewhat reminiscent of The Elder Scrolls

But it automatically switch to 33 API in my unity build while it is loading to make a build.
Hey, this is correct. When I switched the version in the config file, the Unity editor does not change; it still said version 33. In the Editor, it is a picklist that is looking for 36 and 41, so it isn't going to say version 34. In my project, it also still said 33, but when I built, it used the config file and built to 34. Uploading the build and publishing cleared the warning on the app store.
