Did this scene a few weeks ago in Twinmotion for testing purposes. Rendered in very low quality. Gravestones and church and statues are 3dscans.

Was the best graphics back in the mid 80s on release and ST was definitely better than its Amiga counterpart. Fantastic game which I still play on the odd occasion.
There must be Blood !!!
Just so people know, the Metal Slug port is far more impressive than it appears in this video. It uses dual-field colour techniques which requires 50fps video to see. Or in Steem emulator, turn on Vsync option to record video in lower fps. Here is what it really looks like, on a standard STE with 4mb of ram! m.th-cam.com/video/gyRBcTnn-5M/w-d-xo.html
I actually only played a handful of these games! Sim City 2000 being the standout on this list for me. Some memorable games I played between 94 and 99 include Colonization, Theme Park, Wacky Wheels, Dark Forces, Rise of the Triad, Indycar Racing, Warcraft, Screamer, Nascar Racing, and my all time favorite Championship Manager 2.
Lemmings ❤
Bowser attacks more often if: - Your pollution levels are dangerously high. - You bulldoze too many hospitals (the game manual warns you that demolishing hospitals increases the odds a disaster will occur). - You play on the higher difficulty settings (although he can still attack even on Easy). Better think twice before demolishing that hospital; It could set Bowser off. And you know how ticked he can get; He probably relies on those hospitals a lot to get patched up after his encounters with Mario.
You included Jumpin' Jackson, Esprit, No Second Prize, Oids, Vroom & Spherical. Those (along with Zany Golf, Sundog & Wizball, not on your list) define my time with the Atari ST. Of course Dungeon Master was in there too, but NOBODY missed that one, so I didn't expect to see it. What I did not expect to see was Mousetrap!!! That one was included as part of a software bundle when I bought my ST, and I've never seen it mentioned anywhere. Great little nothing of a budget title that I played to death. Thank you for the trip down memory lane, I've played every single one of them (except Stone Age...that one's unfamiliar).
Damn, it's 2024. I missed the boat.
Schöne Composition! Gutes Rendering!
F1gp, Vroom, Rvf and Lotus were the best in my opinion .... This video brings back lots of memories .
I just found this video, but it's 2024. I'm 3 years too late. 😢
my entire youth
Myth has entered the chat.
Vroom, sunny car racer, buggy boy and super hang on, all beautiful.
Good hardware but the games seems to be substandard clones. Uninspiring and seems forced.. What a horrible games collection..
A great computer that came out at least 4 or 5 years too late. Unfortunately, both Atari and Commodore did not understand the need to evolve their machines, considering them perfect. The Falcon could do much more than that, I installed Magic, the multitasking operating system on it and it managed to let me play Legend of Valor in a window!
Tetris (Wally Beben) is to fast, PAL/NTSC mismatch.
❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😮😮😅😅
Man, Sprock is super smooth.
As a complete newbie, how does one actually render? These settings are fantastic but does one just press F9 or F10 and it renders but using Octane and saving to disc? What I would really like to see is a very simple animation creation right through to playing back the completed video file.
This is amazing, thanks!
Don't forget it, Bandit Kings of Ancient China and RTK3
These look much better than the atarigames I had. I remember i had ET and Pitfall
ET and Pitfall are Atari 2600 games. This video is about Atari ST Games.
Alte zeiten
We cam such a long way. I will never forget my first hours of playing video games on my C64 system.
mousetrap great little game. good to see it on the list.
0:35 Somehow the icon on my images is red instead green ... why?
Bowser causes a lot of damage when he attacks.
Even though the Game is set in the *Renaissance Era* - I still pretend I'm a *Feudal Monarch (Non-Absolute),* even though feudalism (for the game) ended 50 years ago in *1453.* 🤩 In fact, no one knows when the Medieval Period ended 😆🏰
Now that, is one hell of a list. Great stuff here. I always wish M.U.L.E. Made these lists. The title screen has possibly the catchiest music of the 64.
Are you sure it's 'No Second Price? 'Cos the game I played the sh*t out of on my old Mega 4 was called "No Second Prize"🤔
Turrican II intro is simply badass!!!
Arkanoid is amazing!!!!
Cannon Fodder and Alien Blast look intiguing to me, but as for the rest.. I cannot say this for sure, as I never had a Falcon, but I feel like I played variations of some of these games on my 800XL a/o on the Mega ST2. Also, some of the games didn't necessarilly require this platform as such - Asteroidia, Double Bobble, Impulse, BeGEMeD, Shanghai, Slippery Sam etc.. And some games just look terrible - Ultimate Arena and Downfall come to my mind here. From what I have read and heard, the Falcon was a fairly good platform with lots of potential, despite being bottlenecked by its data bus limited to 16-bit width only, while the Motorola 68030 CPU was a 32-bit device. I'd say it was designed like that due to cost consdierations. In the end however, it came down to the lack of really good SW (useful apps, good games), that could show the true power of the Falcon. Just watch some newer "fan-made" games a/o demos and you get the idea 🙂
i still play dos games in 2024
Apache.
What memories.
I grew up with simcity 2000 and i still play it to this day
Theme Park! The original from Bullfrog.
I am looking for 30 years for a game that I played as a kid, maybe on an Atari. Xenon is very close to it, but it’s not exactly what I am looking for. #24 Goldrunner is also very similar. But I remember the ship to be dark blue and more like in xenon. But the ship had more uprades than xenon I believe. One day I might find you.
I like Super Cycle, very smooth in spite of beeing an early game for the Atari ST. Not too demanding for the machine but good and playable to me !!! A lot of racing games were too hard to make fot the ST, and not playable because of it.
Thanks a lot Sven !!! ...with this your explanation of the best workflow for scanning object up/down I finally could easily obtain good 3D object . Thankyou so much.
this is so helpful thank you
pity atari didn't release the falcon earlier...true rival to the amiga range.
❤❤❤❤
Falcon was doomed from the start for several reasons. I'll just talk about one. In the early 90s, games size were getting bigger and bigger, sometimes needing more than 4 discs. It was really a chore to use when you had just one disc drive. Obviously the answer was to get a hard drive but they were very expensive. ST/amiga sold very well when they were around 500/600 dollars (or 1000 DM, 400 pounds). If you had to buy the falcon (or the amiga 1200)+ a harddrive+ maybe a monitor, why not spend a little more and buy the most promising, versatile and upgradable computer, the PC?
Sorry, but Whizball blows them all way in terms of music. Some good memories there though.
Wonderboy snd Terry's big adventure are top 20 for sure. California games also.
Great straightforward tutorial. Could have done with vocalised subtitles but can't fault the content
I played this game 1,000,000,001 times as a kid!
