Follow me to explore and learn about tea together. It's my main mission to help you experience tea the way I fell in love with tea.
This Tea Changed My Tea Journey
When I first started my tea journey, I unknowingly began with subpar tea, which didn't give me the full experience I was looking for. If I had discovered this tea earlier, I would have avoided a lot of those missteps. In this video, I'll introduce you to the tea that I wish I had known about from the start. It has completely reshaped my appreciation for quality and flavor.

Tea Unboxing Surprise - What’s Inside the Latest Shipment?
มุมมอง 1412 หลายเดือนก่อน
Join me as I unbox a fresh shipment of tea - straight from China! I'm glad that these boxes didn't get lost in customs, especially since I've already lost four large shipments. I'm concerned about potentially losing more tea due to customs. But enough about that, let's focus on the excitement of trying out new teas! Who's excited to join me in trying out these new discoveries?
I have never seen tea look like this

小土茶, also known as "tu cha" or "wild native tea," refers to a variety of tea that grows naturally in the wild, without much human intervention. It is often used as the raw material for making white tea. Unlike cultivated tea varieties, 小土茶 grows slowly and has lower yields. Its leaves are not as visually appealing but valued for its rich flavor and natural "wild" character.

Whisk Like a Pro: The Art of Preparing Ceremonial Matcha
where do you find these
❤❤
The idea of plucking tea leaves off of the stems before steeping them is very impressive! Very difficult to sip overseas,so delicate. I love white tea,it’s like drinking a pure unadulterated language. The language of the tree.
It's definitely a very specific way of preparing tea. I am still amazed at how fresh it tastes!
where can I get the tea???
Hello! This tea is available on our website: teaandwhisk.com/products/high-mountain-royal-yushan-oolong
its impossible to find whole tea leaves like that over here, those look pretty and tasty!
It is hard to find those big leaves even in China these days! Do you like white tea?
Very gatekeepy, music too loud, narration too slow, snobby vibe overall
I love people who loves to criticize. Thank you!
@@teaandwhisk if the matcha is good it deserves good promotion. Good luck!!
We are definitely not good at promoting. That’s why no one ever heard of us before!
What would you compared the sweetness level to?
It’s like a combination of honey, fresh hay, sweet tofu, and cucumber. Have you had amazing silver needle white tea?
I used to love drinking longjin over 10 years ago. Huang jin ya is good also. But I’ve heard China’s groundwater supply has become very contaminated over the last 10 years. A Chinese study done in 2016 indicated 80% of ground water was not safe for drinking, and more recent tests suggest only around 10% is drinkable, and 50% of the groundwater is not suitable for agriculture even with treatment. I’m not so sure how clean these teas are compared to 15 years ago when I fell in love with Chinese tea
I agree with you, I think it is more important than ever to be aware of where our tea comes from.
Really cool blade!💪what is it?
It’s actually not meant as puer knife at all! I just found them in China at a place that makes damascus knife.
Amazing ❤
Thank you!
@@teaandwhiskselling it ?? Which tea is that? I'm a fan of the whites
@saultopaul This one is our Master Wang Silver Needle White Tea. You can get them on our website here: teaandwhisk.com/products/master-wang-premium-silver-needle-white
Such a good tea
First
Good video
Thanks for the comment!
where is a good source to get good oolong from? organic?
Hmm why not get from us? Although not certified, our oolongs are organic.
duck... shit?
pardon me?
Just picked some up can’t wait to try it
There’s also anji red tea and it’s one of my favorite tea’s of all time
thanks for the asmr voiceover haha, very relaxing
Hah thanks for noticing!
This tea is an award winner? But it is not organic?
organic means nothing
Unfortunately, it is not organic. But amazing teas like this normally use very little amount of pesticides. And yes! This tea won an award in Japan.
@@teaandwhisk If a food product is non organic, then it is sprayed with pesticide and herbicides, and therefore detrimental to human health, and should not be given any kind of award. This is a huge problem today, human health is not considered important by food and drink company's. Anything we eat or drink today, that has an award attached to it, should be done so regarding the products VERY high food standards, and non organic is not considered quality.
I don’t disagree. And we always try to look for more organic tea as much as we can. Unfortunately, plenty award winner tea that I know is not certified organic.
It's really good to hear your perspectives on this tea! The background music is a little loud and makes it tough to hear/understand you at times, and the video is mirrored (harder to read your shirt!). That color is intense--very impressive! I just found your channel and it's a really nice complement to my tea journey. Cheers!
Thank you for the feedback! I am still trying to improve my video editing skill. So i love all kind of feedbacks!
Sounds fantastic! Thank You for your work!
Thank you for watching!
i love watching your videos!! excited to see you vlog your japan trip 😊
Working on editing at the moment!
So if i it were from Uji, would it be Ujilong or Uji zhong (Uji+bao zhong)?? I’d be very interested in trying this out. Will you visit this farmer when you go to Japan?
I’m think it will be called Uji-Bao. Hopefully they don’t think of pork buns after. 😂
Two reactions: "why?" and "very cool!" I thought the same 😂❤ When someone says Oolong, my first thought is Taiwan, not Japan.
Even a Japanese tea seller told me that it makes no sense for him to sell Japanese oolong in Japan. 😅
Did I try that tea ?
Hmm I don’t think so. No one has tried this tea yet. 😁
Love your honesty Leo!! Find those great teas !
Always! I have to be honest to myself if I truly believe in quality products!
This is part of the fun (and frustration) of tea - experimenting with different brewing vessels and methods, temperatures, and water. As I watch this video, I’m looking at a 2-oz bag of this tea and I want to tear into it (but it’s a little late and I don’t want to be up because of the caffeine). When brewing for others (or for yourself) you can also pre-heat the fair pour cup and the tea cups so there’s not a sudden temperature change as you pour hot tea into cold teaware.
Well said! I now saving money to buy the whole batch of this black tea. It’s my tea saving account. 😋
Just out of curiosity, you say that your gaiwan is 100ml, is it to the brim or usable volume under the lid? For example I have 110ml one but it's when filled absolutely to the brim, and usable volume (to the point where lid meets water) only 75-80ml. I wanted to know it just for cases when I want to replicate your leaf-to-water ratio from different videos about teas those I didn't try yet.
Hi, you’re absolutely right! Usable volume is normally about 80-90ml. Thank you for asking.
Great video Leo!! How does this tea compare to the Dewdrop Bulang mountain sheng?
Hah, I hate to say it but dewdrop is a million times better! 😆
I love tea ❤
Genuine question: is bitternes a bad thing? I like my tea bitter but it has to be the 'good' bitterness - meaning I infuse it for the recommended 2-5 minutes or slightly more depending on the tea variety.
Bitterness is definitely not a bad thing! Some of the best tea is a bitter. In fact, all tea has a bit bitterness to it. That is part of the flavor of tea. But if a tea is so bitter, that you can’t taste anything else, even worst followed by acidity and overwhelming tannin - that’s not good. So you’re right there is a “good” bitter and “bad” bitter. In this video, I am talking about there the “bad” bitter. Thank you for your insight!
Thanks again for another great and informative video!
My pleasure! And thank you for the support to this channel!
Great video Leo!! I keep looking for your videos. Wish you did it more often. The way you explain the teas is awesome!!!
Thank you for your support! I am getting more and more consistent with the videos. Be patient with me, a lot more coming. 😁
yummy 😧😧
So good
Where do you buy it?
It’s available on our website: teaandwhisk.com/products/ez-gaiwan-with-cute-dragon
I ordered 4oz of This tea last week. I love it so much I ordered a full brick!! Thanks Leo!!
Thank you so much!! You helped me further confirm the quality!!
Loved your video Leo!! I just subscribed and also bought 4oz of this tea today from your store in Vegas. Love to see more raw puerh reviews that are sweet & fruity with lower astringency
Awesome! Thank you!
Where can I get this? O-O
Here's the link: teaandwhisk.com/products/2011-ancient-tree-bulang-mountain-raw-sheng-puerh :))
I gotta train myself to be on her level tho😂
This just happened to me today. Off 2 tea bags. I had so much fun laughing my butt off!
Oolong is a great teacher. Many people just bring water to a boil, and brew any and all types of tea with that, yes? Oolong commands slightly cooler temperatures,it took me a while to be taught this. But,when I DID,the Black Dragon smiled in approval 😌
What a massive brick of tea. Also, Champagne is not a city, it's an area in France :')
Thanks for the correction! 😁
Mmmm hojicha. I'm looking forward to it in the package!
Sun Moon! My favorite! I am sad I missed this stream.
Do you own the tea and whisk website??
🤗 thank you! really love hearing your description of the flavors.
pretty good thandk
Very beautiful scenery I had to subscribe! I wish to visit Taiwan one day
Thanks for the sub! My goal is to bring tea lovers to Taiwan one day.
