You could have organized your review better if you did it in sections. The review sounded all over the place. DD2's story is mediocre but I loved the gameplay.

the enemies are all the same all over the world. After three caves you just know what you are going to get. Even the loot repeats all the time. Big enemies all the same. Cyclops, Griffin, the other thing with three heads. The mechanics are clompsy and the stories are lazy.

The game to me is as good as DD1, better and worse in some cases. The only difference is that DD1 had the Dark Arisen expansion, giving it a true difficult endgame. I wish DD2 gets an expansion in future

I noticed there are a bunch of discrepancies in dialogue between Japanese and English actually. For example, during Cloud and Tifa's last conversation in this chapter, in English Tifa asks Cloud where he has been for 5 years and Cloud answers "you know I can't tell you that", but in Japanese he says "it's confidential" (he means his job as Soldier and the sentence actually give us more context). There are other differences, like Sephiroth saying "you know that I killed her. So who is she? Or rather, what is she?", but in Japanese he says "I killed Tifa (with emphasis on the "I"). Then who is she? You shouldn't, you can't trust her." Even in during the flashback there are a bunch of mistranslations but these are the only ones I remember so far.

The reason why the combat for Cloud seems so different and advanced, is because he's mixing his abilities, with Zack's execution. Even at the beginning of the demo, you beating the first monster with Sephiroth seemed so quick because what the game is trying to convey, is that Sephi is extremely powerful, more than the normal Soldier. Everything that you see in this demo, even the combat, is used to convey important points of the story. This isn't a spoiler because I'm just making a supposition, but I bet that when the flashback ends and we start to play as present Cloud, his combat is gonna turn back to what it was at the end of Remake and it's gonna make people think "wait, what!?", unless he keeps memory of what he has narrated in the flashback and suddenly starts to blast new moves, but I'm not sure about that. The one that you called "a new rendition" of the battle theme, is basically a faster version of the main theme mixed with the usual battle theme.

HAPPY TEARS!!! The theme is beautifully performed - it hurts to see that brief moment with Aerith praying, as the familiarity of it sinks in, while the meaning of the bittersweet lyrics starts to deepen. I am ready to play this game!!

New FF video! The one with Tifa in the Lava. The 4 places I can think of is the cave between chocobo farm and Fort Condor, dungeon in Cosmo Canyon, Mt. Nibel (possibly made changes to how it looked?), or the mountains in Wutai. But I'm leaning towards the dungeon in Cosmo Canyon.

I'm never going to understand this. FF7R was such a bizarre butchering of the original. It kept getting more and more bizarre. It's getting warped beyond recognition to the point where it is completely silly and people are hungry for it.

I was trying to avoid more trailers but I couldn’t look away while watching someone experience her TGA on stream. She only played the remake with no knowledge of the OG, Crisis Core, and Advent Children… so she was overwhelmed with happiness during the FF7 Rebirth part. Since she was happy and excited, I was happy too. It wasn’t until the 2nd time I saw the trailer when I began crying (just before I had to clock in for work 😅). Can’t wait for February.
