    Its not about listening. Obviously no one ignores their instructor on purpose. Whats Happening here is, that the teacher doesnt respect the students mental capacity. Bad teacher, not bad student. Poor student was just way over his ability and didnt know that. I understand that this is part of the learning curve (to go beyond your abilities in a controlled manner) but this crash could have been avoided by the teacher, not the student.

I am glad he got things all settled by having his SIV instructor look at it. I also thank you for getting the other SIV instructor to come on there. @wayneherron2161 I think he said it well he didn't have time to really analyze it properly before he spoke. People in the paramotor community can be cruel unfortunately. I don’t understand why this race continues, I moved to Reno 1994. I believe there was a crash right over the bleachers before 2000 myself and my children were there. We weren’t hurt but it scared the bejesus out of us and we never went back. It’s a shame the lives that have been lost, this isn’t a cause so stop doing it!!! Not worth the lives lost❤!

    • @jimsimard
      @jimsimard 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those pilot's racing are doing it for the love of pushing and expanding the limits of mankind. They don't want to die but they are willing to take the risk. This incident was an accident that occurred after the conclusion of the race. Just as you hop into your car and go for a drive, it doesn't matter what you do in life there is a risk. Some risks are greater than others however flying is still the safest way to travel.

    • @bookwriter23

      @@jimsimard I guess it bothers me because I am a nurse worked with seniors before I retired. Sat at bedsides until they passed. My mother passed in September this year. Some die for reasons but it seems like the pilots come every year but I know they don’t come to die. I just feel they shouldn’t hold the air races any longer. I’m sure death by airplane crash isn’t the way they would choose to go out…Their lives mean more than a race.

    That quad accident was 100% pilot induced. Way too much correction and poor timing of it. It looks like if he would have gave no brake input at all it may have sorted out. Not the wind's fault. Not to armchair quarterback-- just an observation. Glad the pilot is OK. People are human, an no one is immune from mistakes. Fly safe!!!

    • @jimsimard
      @jimsimard ปีที่แล้ว

      There was a lot going on. Mistakes were made also but it was ultimately the terrain that got him. On the right side the sand was like powder and it was deep, also at that point the terrain switched to an upward slope which was another factor. Cause was one of his wheels dig in. But you are right as a pilot our choices are 100% our own and therefore it is our fault but if the conditions were different the pilot would have gotten off the ground. It was the wrong place to launch from given the terrain and wind direction. I made a mistake in implying that the twitchy winds were the cause.

    • @warrenkral6562
      @warrenkral6562 ปีที่แล้ว

      @jimsimard fair enough. It kind of looks like he may have lost his balance in the seat and pulled brakes inadvertently as the quad swung left right

    • @jimsimard
      @jimsimard ปีที่แล้ว

      @@warrenkral6562 Perhaps it is very complicated, there were a lot of events happening at the same time with multiple variables culminating in the roll over. This is why most accidents are chalked up to pilot error, because ultimately that is the cause.
