    Where are you flying? That 12x4.5 is probably the wrong prop. I'd try going down in diameter one or two inches and maybe to a five or six pitch. A 40-amp ESC should be ok. Just my opinion. Good luck.

      @@mikenadler7118 so far I've tested 6 different props and pitches. The 12x4.5 seems to be about perfect. I can fly at 50% throttle with no problem. The ESC wasn't in the the best spot though. I may try a 12x4 and see how that works as well. May take a little stress off the motor and esc. Flying in a small lot in north Idaho. Probably won't be flying here much longer. Props are a different thing in the air. Likely at that size/power combo the props aerofoil is stalled in a ground run and it will rev higher. In the air it un stalls and then you don't have the power to run it at sufficient speed to get the aircraft flying properly.

    • @FlyTimeRC
      @FlyTimeRC 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@pjjms True. And this prop definitely didn't give me the air speed I needed. I did try two more props and the last one 4s after this giving me the perfect set up. I ended up going with a 12x4.5 on 4s. I had enough thrust and air speed to fly at 40-45% throttle before stalling. Right where I wanted to be.

  • @graphix-ds
    @graphix-ds 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Seems to me the plane isn't properly balanced. Too tail heavy. Needs more weight in the nose. The CG point you are using now to balance the plane is too far back. It needs to be moved forward, which will show you it is tail heavy. Try to move it an inch forward. Then move your battery forward to make the plane balance OK. Additionally the 15x4 might provide you 3.5kg thrust, but the plane doesn't reach enough speed to generate the needed lift ... hence the need for full throttle. An higher pitched prop (smaller diamter) 13x7 might be more suited. On the other hand, you might try the 15x4 using a much thicker wing, as this will generate more lift with lower speed. Thicker wing -> slow flying, thinner wing -> speed.

    • @FlyTimeRC

    Why does it launch the airplane vertically upwards. We used to launch an airplane close to the horizontal with a slight climb. Then the traction of the motor helps to slightly increase the speed of the throw and since the speed does not decrease, you will have plenty of time to reach the transmitter. Not to mention that if you start the aircraft horizontally rather than upwards, you can do this with one hand, and you can safely hold the transmitter in the other hand. Of course, there is the thrust-to-weight ratio at which the plane can stretch vertically and rise, but it is still recommended to perform the throw almost horizontally. Have a good flight!

    • @FlyTimeRC
      @FlyTimeRC 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It has plenty of power to launch however. But the bad thing was when I tossed the plane my controller swung over and hit my arm and I lost control before it started flying. That's why I rather not hand launch myself if I can help it. It's way easier to have someone launch for me so I can be quick on the controls. No biggy though. The plane was fine.
