Rusty Staub breaks wrist when hit by pitch June 3, 1972
8mm video I took at the Mets-Braves game at Shea Stadium on June 3, 1972. Rusty Staub was hit by a pitch from George Stone which later required surgery and he didn't return until September.

George Stone became a Met the following season along with Felix Millan. Rusty never did fully recover from that injury. But being the great hitter he was, he found a way to adapt and hit to the opposite field.
On the Spot, more like a leopard retreating to its favorite tree, yet that"lion" inside of you does deal with worldly problems, as lions have less places to go to. Van just brings it all together!

I remember being a teenager living in Poughkeepsie and running all kinds of crazy wires and homemade antennas out my bedroom window back in the 80s so I could listen to 102.7 WNEW.. Long live Scottso!!

I hadn't seen this since it aired live. This clip includes some amazing Van awkwardness along with the band that seems paralyzed during the interview. Really interesting period of time for him, this was some real mainstream attention he was getting.

@@billyboy8657 I have some really good memories. Unlike many, I wasn't ashamed of what I did. Ronnie and me are still best friends. I raised 5 kids and gave them an education thanks to that job.
@@elaine8013 I think I remember you later worked at Tina's place Su Casa. I went to Studio 90 and Su Casa after Harmony closed.
