How to make a velvet two-piece set in one day. Easy sewing tutorial.
มุมมอง 67ปีที่แล้ว
I made it in one day so it's not perfect - I didn't make a pattern and I didn't use my dressform. It works as a holiday outfit though and it's a very quick project to make.
How to make a velvet wrap dress. Two-piece easy DIY. Sewing tutorial featuring a cat and a toad!!!
มุมมอง 544ปีที่แล้ว
In this tutorial I will show you how to sew a simple, two-piece wrap dress. I used 3 m of stretchy velvet for this. The pieces (skirt and top) may be worn separately (but you will have to make a belt to cover the snap buttons). For the pattern, leave a comment :) Music: "Six Musical Moments, D. 780 Allegro moderato in F minor" from musopen.org

In this video I will show you how to make a weighted duvet / gravity blanket. I will make a cover for it as well. This is a very easy sewing tutorial for beginners. Your blanket should weigh 10% of your body weight a bit more. It's best to consult a doctor before using one, because it might not be suitable for everyone. DIY easy party dress with a laced back | How to sew an elegant black dress tutorial for beginners
มุมมอง 4832 ปีที่แล้ว
In this tutorial I will show you how I made this elegant cocktail party dress. I used velvet for this project, but if you're a complete beginner, use some other stretchy fabric - velvet moves around a lot and is quite difficult to control :) I struggled a lot because of that. Enjoy and feel free to ask of you have any questions! My other channel: www.youtube.com/@minihappyart/videos Music: Part...

What types of cloth did you use? Awesome video btw
Thank you:) It was cotton!
This dress looks incredible, can i please have the pattern?
Hi, thank you so much, I will look for it! :)
Can you please write me an email to minihappyart@gmail.com so that I remember?
what is the size for the 3rd bookmark??
Hi, sorry, just saw the comment! Width is 5 cm, height in the highest point is 17 cm and the height on the sides is 14 cm :)
Hi, this is soo beautiful, which cloth are u using for the bird embroidery ?
Hi, unfortunately I don't know, because I found it in a box with some old fabric scraps. Anyway I wouldn't recommend it, as it was a bit stretchy! I think linen or something non stretchy that resembles it would be best! 🥰
@minihappysewing thankyou 🙂
Good luck!! :D
These are beautiful, I look forward to making them 🙂
Thank you so much, I'd love to see your result!! ❤️
Amazing job! So inspiring <3

Dziękuję:D
What material did you use in the middle of it to make the weight?
I used tiny glass beads :) but I know that plastic micro pellets can also be used!
Oh this is so lovely! I was wanting to make some as little presents and wasn’t sure how difficult it would be but you’ve put my mind at ease. Wonderful video! 🥰
Thank you so much, they're actually really easy to make and customize! If you have any questions, I will gladly help:)

thank You aniauniau :*
Follow for tutorials 😊
You have such a lovely figure, everything you makes looks wonderful on you! Once many years ago I made trousers for the first time out of an old curtain. They were so ugly and very 1970s looking but I loved them hahaha
Thank you so much❤❤ haha I think you told me about the trousers, what colour were they? 😂
@@minihappysewing they were brown, gold and orange from memory. They had some kind of ugly floral pattern
@@nessiemonstercrafts you can remake them in miniature!! 😀
@@minihappysewing 🤣🤣🤣My poor minis having to associate that monstrosity!
@@nessiemonstercrafts hahaha :D make a 70s themed mini :D
Beautiful!
thank you so much Laureen!😍
Its amazing how different the colour of the fabric looked in the different lighting. You made a very important point about cutting the pieces out facing the same direction, it would be so easy to make the mistake of not paying enough attention and ending up with the grain/weave(not sure of the right name for it) to be facing the wrong way on one piece and it would look so obviously wrong in the finished dress. Actually it sounds like the silly kind of mistake I would probably make hahahaha. The dress looks beautiful!
The PILE of the fabric! Thats the word I was looking for lol
@@nessiemonstercrafts I myself wasn't sure what the correct name was, haha! Oh yes, I definitely HAVE made this mistake quite a few times :D and it's true, the fabric's real colour is the one seen in the sunny scenes - I don't know why but my camera didn't catch the right colour inside my house...
Hermoso
Muchas gracias 🥰
So sweet. Thank u for these ideas 😊
Thank you for your lovely comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the tutorial 🥰

aww thank you so much, glad I could help!! :)😍
So sweet and delicate looking! Do you do a lot of embroidery?
thank you so much Vanessa! :) I'm starting to do more and more, but I'm only just learning! but it's so relaxing and such an easy way to make everything more beautiful! how about you? :)
@@minihappysewing I haven't done any embroidery for a long time, but in my half finished project stash I do have a crazy quilting cushion cover that I had started embroidering all over with flowers and random stitch samples.....one day I might finish it hahahaha. I did once make monogrammed pillow cases with lots of little flowers around the fancy letters but that was many years ago, I have no idea where they are now
@@nessiemonstercrafts aww that must be so lovely! My Mom embroidered plenty of things like cushions, napkins and gave them to me for my wedding! I'd love to see your embroidery, could you email me a photo?
These look adorable and they would be such an easy and cost effective way to change your whole look!
exactly! that's what I love most about them, so versatile :D
Beautiful--you and the dress!
thank you so much Laureen! :)
You are multi-talented. Your planning and time commitment on this blanket really made this project successful. My son LOVES his weighted blanket. I've never seen one made before. Just lovely. 😊
thank you so much for stopping by here as well! :D Usually these blankets are made in an easier way, the beads are put straight into the channels (without the pillows) but I wanted to make sure they won't fall out :D have a great day!
Great tutorial, these blankets can be so comforting to some people.
thank you so much! I absolutely love mine, I like being a bit squished when I sleep :D
Your dress is absolutely gorgeous!!! I love the way you designed the back! ❤️
thank you so much Mary!! :) so glad you like it!
Great tutorial, you covered all the important bits so well. Every time I thought of a question while watching it, you showed the answer! I haven't needed to ask you a thing! The dress is beautiful and I can understand that velvet is a tricky material to work with. My mother was a very experienced sewer and when I wanted velvet for my school ball dress, even she was like oh hell no, and she paid a seamstress to make it for me lol. I thought I looked so fabulous at the time, now I think oh boy fashion in the 90s was not very kind hahaha.
Thank you so much for great feedback!!Haha I'd love to see your dress, do you have any photos of it?
I'll try to find one to show you. All my photo albums are packed away right now while we are doing renovations.
@@nessiemonstercrafts sure, good luck with your renovations! :)
@@minihappysewing thanks! My husband is busy removing old wallpaper today in our living room. If I am really lucky it will be freshly painted and new wallpaper up on the walls before Christmas. Then the big hunt will be on to find a new light and curtains that we both agree on!
@@nessiemonstercrafts wow, I'm sure it will look amazing!!!
