Your timing was off. Chiang Mai is my favorite city in Thailand, but the flooding was unfortunate. Phuket is too expensive and touristy. I enjoy city breaks in Bangkok and the southern islands like Koh Samui and Koh Kood. Safe travels-I love to see us sistas represented.

You forgot to point out that its 2 months rent for deposit and that when you go through a agent you and the landlord pay and split 1 months additional rent of the apartment as fee. Tax Stamping Fees are paid extra. As a Expat you should also ask to get monthly payment receipts for your paid rent.. which can be used for further tax reductions.
