It's 104.17GB download after installing Vanilla, Burning Crusade, Lich King. Some reason CATA requires internet connection to install.

Pandaria checks internet then forces you to use battle net installer. So... dont install again.. just tell it to locate what you currently have installed after CATA fails... and it should lessen the amount you install.

I'm installing the whole process right now... starting from vanilla to Pandaria then seeing how much I have to do afterwards... we'll keep you updated.

It's very useful to have such a disc, because it's a solid copy of the game. You can patch it to 1.12.1 with an offline patch and then play on vanilla private servers (Mangos server emulators). I did buy battlechest just for that :D Who needs Blizzard these days when they censor the game and make everything woke?

If I remember correctly, you could add the CD key to your account.

I still have my vanilla individual box with over 5 million online sticker 😁. I have the individual burning crusade box and collectors wrath, Cataclysm and Mists of Pandaria editions stopped playing after that and can’t/ won’t go back

People saying its crazy to own physical copy now. But its more surprising that its crazy to have a cdr-rom installed on your pc block now.

I got this boxset when I was a kid. Only it didn't have the cd in it because it was the display one they put on the shelf and are meant to fill when you checkout. Got home, excited to see what the fuss was about, bam no cds. Thought maybe it was a code to enter. Nope just a cosmetic code for something on one of the pamphlets. Call the store and was told in no uncertain terms that it had been filled with the appropriate cds as they weren't in the inventory and made to feel like I was some sort of scammer trying to steal 2 sets. Left such a bad taste in my mouth, I not only never went to Kmart again, but never ended up playing wow. Gave 10 years of my life to Runescape instead. I sometimes wonder what life would have been like in the timeline the cds were actually there.

First time I got my own pc I bought one of these and month subscription free.

I still have my Vanilla, BC, and Wrath disks. One day they'll be worth a fortune.

Man, I remember being a kid and getting WoW for the first time. My parents didn't realize it required a monthly subscription when they bought it. I remember reaching out directly to Blizzard support asking if they would support a single player mode just for me, because i wanted to play it that badly. They said the game wasn't built for single player and that it wouldn't be possible. But I sure as hell remember trying. It's fine... convinced the rents to fork over the $15/month for my one and only hobby... lol.

i started playing during BC and never had any cds or disks, everything was fully online already. These are just physical packs you could buy, just like today you can buy the same packs for the war within expension.

What happened in there?

I remember waiting hours and hours for one disk to install, then having to change to the next. Such simpler times

I have the Classic, TBC, Wrath and Cata original disks.

I was 14 and did my first pre-order ever for the vanilla Collectors Edition of WoW from Babbage's. I kept it for years, even after I stopped playing. The box was gorgeous, and everything included was awesome. Plus the OG in game pets (Mini Diablo, Panda Cub, & Zergling). WC3 & Diablo 2 were my life in middle school and freshman year, then it was just WoW non stop, all on 56k dial up internet. This was awesome to see.

@3:55 wow it actually booted the old launcher! I don't even think that was made in Vanilla? Cos im pretty sure we used to just boot the game and it went straight to login, and news was just posted in that same olace now where they post server update news. Not sure when that little mini launcher was introduced... Maybe late Vanilla. I do remember loooking at it while patching, but the first patches were just downloaded while you looked at the login Dark Portal and a little % indicator. Peer to peer patching fucking sucked back then too. If you didn't have a decent connection you were looking at your entire day being wasted managing the download

I think that weird sound was something spinning inside causing a centrifugal force to shake the drive a little bit. Since it was hanging off the edge i reckon it was actually rocking back and forth really quickly, causing whatever was spinning to also rock and make that noise. Like when you spin a coin and it slows down to the point where it is simultaneously falling and still spinning, and you get this really unstable wobble. Put that inside a plastic box and it's noisy as hell

With the help of the manual i had decided on the race, class and name of my first char. A troll hunter named Taeno. I loved the Horde in W3, i always play marksman classes first in RPGs, and i had to of course RP the name

I never played WoW Lol. Runescape was free to play and in an internet browser Lol. Although nowadays you need to download Runescape.

I found in 2012 the original box for Diablo2 with the key and activated it after around 10 years and it worked, this year I logged into it and played singleplayer, even the battle net was working and ppl were on there....

That's the box that got me and my friends started with WOW. Good times

account name was a name that you chose and it should tell you on battlenet account information what yours is. However if you didnt play back when you got to choose im not sure what it'll say for account name. I just use my email address to log in though and always have for as long as i can remember. Sorry this is 2 years late lol. this video was nostalgic and funny

Dude i used to collect those strategy guides and i literally still have them to this day haha. I still have my original copy of BC too (i started in BC)
