The reason Green Phoenix’s story is so dramatic or melancholic, as I understand it, is to emphasize that he’s a character with a revenge-driven plot

I can understand why it might seem like the main plot about the protagonist is being ignored, but that really only happens in season 4. In the end, I realized that even those comedy episodes where the plot doesn’t seem to move forward (seasons 1 and 2) help build Seven as a character. His loved ones, his life on the island, and his happiness are necessary pieces to create a contrast with his past self. That’s why I believe the ending of season 3 feels genuine, just like his development in season 5. I really think Seven was very well written as a protagonist.

S7 is not only a great donghua, but it’s also firmly a front-running contender in my all time favorite series rankings. I wish I could forget about it so I can relive it all over again! The fight choreography, humor (I almost never chuckle at cartoonish tropes but I found myself cracking up a lot while watching), music, backstories, and characters are honestly🔥! Safe to say it not only reached my expectations, it blew the door hinges off them.

He Dachun and eleven are my favorites too, I relate heavily with He Dachun and feels like whoever made the show has been watching me through my life to make the character

Several years back, I was browsing for a new anime and clicked on this (Cike Wu Luqui) just to see how trash Chinese anime was, especially with how dumb the thumbnail for this show looked. I was hooked. The homies were hooked soon after. The fight scenes in this show have NO BUSINESS looking as good as they do, and I love. Solid 9/10, in my all time top 5.

Bad Rom Hack bingo card for the fellas: - hack expects you to be level 50 by gym 2 - WAY too many back-to-back encounters - “holy FULL RESTORE, Batman!” - every encounter has you up against crack fiends at least 10-15 levels above you regardless of the area. - story so edgy you could cut yourself. - Tonal Whiplash that goes from borderline shitpost to Twilight in a matter of seconds.

I played this in elementary when a friend introduced me to a mobile GBA emulator and me being a kid at the time absolutely loved the story back then and straight up played using any pokemon I could find. I think my strat was destiny bond spam revive in both dark rising 1 and 2. It was also the gba game that introduced me to rom hack games. It's been like 13 years since then, fun times discovering these kind of games. Also Dark rising had a Digimon crossover (i think order destroyed) and absolutely jusy blasted everything until I see the story ends. Good times.

Compared to modern standards in the romhacking scene, I get why this is hated, but back then this was one of the more interesting hacks, not iconic as Light Platinum but more interesting from the joke hacks or the amount of Hoenn hacks that would just change the pokedex and trainer sprites and call it good
