My husband Daniele and I recently enjoyed two delightful stays in Antigua, each offering a different experience before heading to Pineapple Beach Club were we celebrated my parent's 50th Anniversary. We started our trip at Blue Waters Resort and Spa, located on a private bay on the northwest coast of Antigua. This resort features 85 luxurious rooms, suites, and villas. A few years ago, on an educational trip I stayed at Rock Cottage on property with a group, which has 5 rooms (ideal for family and or celebration trips). I loved how it felt exclusive while still providing access to the resort’s amenities and restaurants. Views are stunning and there is a dock where you can leave from right from here for a boat ride. This time, we stayed in a Deluxe Beachfront Room, where we enjoyed relaxing on our balcony, hearing the soothing sound of the waves whether we were outside or inside our room! I enjoyed taking baths in the deep soaking tub, and we liked having restaurant options to choose from for lunch and dinner. Daniele especially enjoyed the Old Fashioned Rum Punch at the Pelican Bar! We had fun taking the Hobie Cat out for a ride.
Next, we visited Hermitage Bay, a luxury boutique hotel on the west side of Antigua. This adult-only, all-inclusive property spans 17 acres of lush beachfront with 30 suites. It’s perfect for a romantic getaway with its seclusion and spacious suites. It was nice not hearing any kids splashing or screaming at the pool. We appreciated the outside shower and the huge soaking tub. The staff was super accommodating, and the food was delicious. Daniele described it perfectly: “It is where paradise meets exclusivity.” Our stay included a boat tour around the island and a snorkeling adventure at a shipwreck and Hawksbill. We also took the Hobie Cat for a spin around here too. You can snorkel right from the beach here as well as there is a reef close to the shore. We enjoyed the live music; they had different singers and bands the nights we were there. One night, they had a few of us up dancing!
The view from the Hillside Pool suite is spectacular! Positioned higher up the hill and involves a walk-up steps to get to the suite, but a golf cart shuttle is available to transport you to the main lobby, restaurant, and beach.
Then we headed east to Pineapple Beach Club, an all-inclusive resort. We so enjoyed the beach here with its clear and calm turquoise blue waters which made the water very inviting for swims and or hanging out in the floatie in the water. We did a private dinner on the beach to celebrate my parent's 50th Anniversary which was special. We hired a steel drum player for some extra added ambiance and had a delicious meal. Daniele and I opted to swing with the sting rays from here. We swam and fed the sting rays, it was a fun adventure! It was a memorable trip for many different reasons.
