Fabulous video, very professional. Are Minerva worksurfaces ok for a competent, well equipped DIYer to install?
What blade do you use ?
Hey guys thanks for the video really helpful, told me exactly what I wanted to know thanks
Thanks for that
How do you rate the kitchen quality?
How did you fix the pivot on the floor? I have wood but then concrete underneath. Any suggestions? Thanks!
You could use ct1 or similar adhesive and wood screw,or slightly longer concrete screws/screw and plug.
What kind of wheels did you use? Thanks!
how would you make it different if the bookcase would've had to open inwards? Would you have used the same hinges? Thank you so much for this great video!
Pivot hinges would work going inward 👍
@@n.e.joinerybuildingandmain1953 Thank you so much!
The jam also nice work
Looks like a fine job, but those casters will eventually begin to show tracks.
The wheels got changed to white non bur wheels we used the black smaller ones as the white ones hadn’t been delivered, unnecessary information to put in the video but you are correct
Very nice thank you so much
I have a question. As a kitchen fitter myself I have come on this site to see the quality of the kitchen as I believe my customer is opting for kutchenhaus. Are the decor panels made of chipboard as they mostly are and if so how safe is it to expose it by planing the edge off and fitting it to a wet plastered wall. I’ve never unpacked a kitchen in a wet environment let alone fit it. Regards Chris
If Unsure you can always seal all the edges with clear silicone or PVA have I never had issues fitting the kitchens as we usually leave at least two days between Plaster and fitting but obviously as it’s winter call the conditions prolong the drying times so we monitor the wall and make a decision based on previous experiences if you look at the section the end panel was fitted to that section is dry
You didn't state what type of saw or blades recommendations!
It’s in the comments
Fine tooth tct
Cracking job mate, how does Kutchenhaus compare to other UK brands, such as Wren or Magnet?
Levels above,by far the best kitchens we fit
I am fitting a 20mm acrylic worktop this weekend and BnQ have provided number 10 biscuits. Would you recommend not using them since you haven't used them in this vid? Cheers, Ben.
If you had been issued them it’s best to use them otherwise B&Q may not cover it with warranty as it’s not been fitted as per there specifications. We do have little tricks we use such as dowels or scoring the ends to help with adhesive sticking but if issued with we do use biscuits
Brilliant work.
Are Kutchenhaus units relatively straight forward to install? My installed has cancelled out works and currently sat looking at lot of boxes so contemplating a diy attempt… your works look great!
We have done a lot and also some showrooms…..unless familiar with the systems you can be caught out. It does take a level of experience with kitchen installation in general
Hey awesome video, thank you so much. Just a question on what tools did you use to sand and buff the edges. Were they angle grinder attachments or a specialist buffer sander? And the various sand paper grades used from start to finish will really help tooThanks in advance
Usually the worktop supplier will issue the relevant pads etc to attach to a orbital sander
Nicely done! Was very useful seeing how you do the new joists when the old ones dont sit on the wall plate - might be doing that in my new project...
Great vid but could have been better without circular saw over sound of commentary.
Noted,thank you
easiest ever birds mouth cut/seat cut .........................forget about all the maths calculation ..................ha ha ,love it
Move with the times pal speed = money why have a hand cut roof if it’s not needed? We only do them if repairing,or matching existing
@@n.e.joinerybuildingandmain1953 Today is moment of truth ,i am DIYer ,and today i am building a small gable roof ,and will follow your way to cut roof rafters ,will update you later today
That’s is the worst kitchen layout I’ve ever seen not your problem thou . What blade cuts the worktops
I agree with you but was fitted by or designed by us 🤷♂️ fine tooth tct blade 4mm passes
What finish does the saw blade leave?
Good enough to finish of with the recommended sanding pads and polish
@@n.e.joinerybuildingandmain1953 ok thanks so it stands up good!! Is it similar to wood?
@@ryanferris7841 the cutting is the same as timber but tougher to get through so 3mm passes is what I’d recommend to help the blades life….also polishing and buffing is time consuming compared to timber
u make me feel like a dodgey builder i do it all on a ladder lol - good proffesional work though im not charging enough wouldnt give me enough time to give as much detail as you do mate well done 😊
Didn’t show the actual cutting out of hob or sink and didn’t show how to do joints with resin, pointless video 👎
Suppose I can’t please everyone. I’d of thought putting resin in was pretty self explanatory but I’ll take the tip for my next video
One other point, cutting out sink etc was exactly the same as cutting the length as show in video 👍
@MAD MICK if you don’t know the basics of cutting a worktop then you shouldn’t be attempting to cut acrylic worktops …..this video just shows how we do it ,it’s not a tutorial or by any means an instruction video but rather just showing what we do when we cut them
Excellent and clear instructions. well done,
Any particular saw blade tooth count recommended to cut acrylic?
Fine tooth TCT blades
3mm passes
Nice one, I have one of those drainer groove templates and found there was a slight movement in the jig when using with the router. If I looked carefully at the grooves I some weren't perfectly straight.
Most of the templates have slight movement in it allowing you to go along the grain on your first pass and pull back along the other side to clean out the cut if that makes sense
@@n.e.joinerybuildingandmain1953 I was working on one of those Zenith worktops. Nightmare
@@gavincollins9376 ye same technique but I totally agree they are the worst!
If u knew it needed 8mm why did u not take 4mm off the hinge side ? That will show uneven stiles.
Didn’t really cover it as it was a “quick video” as described but I’d already shaped the hinge side but agreed I should of stated that as it does seem as tho I’d cut it all off one side 👍
This is mint! I have two chimney breast alcoves and would love one of them to have a secret bookcase that opened out and let me have a secret stash behind it!
Cowboy you don't plane 8mm you use a plunge saw much easier and quicker and doesn't look like the sea bed when you look down the door after 👍🏻
If yours looks like the sea bed your obviously doing it wrong 👍
And as explained it’s a “quick video”my track saw is set up with mains power not batteries so the palm router and plane was a QUICKER option in this case
Im building a closet for under the stairs and I wanted to build a bookshelf secret door and I was trying to think of how to do the latch hardware and I'm glad I watched your video because the magnetic latch catch is a great idea. Great work buddy
Thank you for that my friend!
what's the thickest solid/compact laminate that you can get?
What disc did you use.
Fine tooth tct
Is there anyway you can do a follow up video with pictures of the hinges installed against the wall? I'm drawing up my plan soon and would love to see how you approached it.
Beautiful.. Who is kitchen manufacturer?
Kutchenhaus 🤌🏻
Why did you space shelves out unevenly? This looks unsymmetrical and awful.
I’m not sure if this is a serious question 🤣we set the shelves as the client requested and even tho the top shelf is indeed bigger.....the remaining shelves are all equal
In fact now they have organised the bookcase the shelves are completely random but looks fantastic (I unfortunately can’t add a photo here)
@@n.e.joinerybuildingandmain1953 Well, if the client likes it, I don't care, just seems a bit off for me. Thanks for the quick answer!
@@janis31 like I say maybe if you can see the finished photos you would have a different opinion but the clients are over the moon so to me that’s a job well done
Marvellous, I've been looking at ideas or this kind of thing for a while. Yours is the best solution I've seen.
Thank you!!!!🙂
How did you do the door???
That’s a secret 🤫 haha Which section?
Great videos only found your videos today, cannot understand why you don't have more subscribers brilliant work and content looking forward to watching all videos
Cracking job lads I only have one question and that's why don't the oven larder/boiler larders not finish level with the rest of the kitchen
The designer did say but I can’t remember off the top off my head?? I mentioned it to the clients but it was at their request so that’s that! Not my choice or design we just installed 👍
Job looks mint lads
Hello we are looking to purchase a new kitchen and have seen this on TH-cam. How do Kutchen Haus compare to Wren for build quality and value for money?
Brilliant,I’d definitely choose kutchenhaus over wren for my own home!

Can you show us a pic of the hinge you used?
Unfortunately it won’t let me post a photo on this message platform but I’d purchased them off Amazon.... Brand:dreamtop Size:98x23mm Description: 360degree rotation, hidden door hinges
Nice one! I wanted to get the mini router to do my doors, however ended up doing it witch chisel. I wish I bought it as I never managed to get level cut out and I need to use shims to make it nice. However I'm still baffled you have to cut doors in this country to match the door frame... Back in Poland we just go out and buy door of standard size witch hinge already cut to fit standard door frame, it's as easy as lifting the door up and hanging new one in, mostly not more than a 5 minute job..
So what would you do if you bought a new door and went to lift it on to put the pin through the hinges but as the building was old and had moved a bit which made the opening to small, surely you would have to cut the door to fit it? I don't know why we don't use pre hung doors here in the UK. Your comment has actually explained something to me, I was working on one site and the polish lads had made the door casings up ready for me to fit them. When I came to fit the doors I found that the frames were all too big. They had set them to a width of 31 inches and a standard door is 30 inches. They must just not have been used to putting door casings together as they all come pre hung in Poland. 👍😀
@@garethheathcote4988 Intresting point of view. Most buildings in Poland are not made from wood so door frame movement is not such a great issue. And the reason for the door opening being larger is you buy door and frame to match it, so the door wing itself can be of standard size, frame usually has architrave around to conceal the screws/shims/expanding foam used fit it in the door opening. Also, quite a lot of the doors have a lip (so door wing is partially larger than the door frame and it's resting on door frame) and you just can't cut it. Please type "drzwi wewnętrzne" into Google and switch to image search so you will see what I mean.
hi why have you not doubled up on the sides of the roof lights? and would it not have been easier to just cut such a small roof?
Hello, Truss company had said depth of truss had been made deeper to take the strain rather then double truss, Yes a small roof is easy enough to hand cut but not as fast as just dropping in these trusses I find so it’s more productive for us.
Want to come to the USA, Ohio ...and build this a few days? Im 100% serious

@@marksoberay2318 We are based in the United Kingdom, And would of course require our tools to be travelling with us, Forgive me scepticism but it seems a big layout for a job I’m sure you can source out locally? We would love this opportunity but given the cost of travel for two people, tools, accommodation, food and of course actually carrying out the work I can’t see how this would be cost affective for you.

What formula did you use to determine the clearance for door swing?
Not so much an exact formula with using pivot hinges and also governed by what we already had to work with it was a case of marking it out on the floor and knocking up a small template
That’s what we did also. Put a screw in the floor and determined our max width with that radius.
I haven't done the project myself yet but I'm guessing that I need to figure out if my bookshelf door will hit anything as well
How much does it cost to make that staircase?
It was made off site from a supplier and installed by the team on site, The purchase cost was around £500 if I remember correctly
What was the approx cost for this loft conversion?
Usually loft conversions can cost £25,000-£45,000 depending on a number of different factors such as, Current loft space Structural integrity Dorma windows And so on......
Any chance you could measure the center to center pins on the track guide adapter? I believe the 1/2" or 12.7mm pins are 4.5" or 114.3mm I may be wrong, not sure what the smaller pins center to center is. What I really need is the center to center distance of the front large pin to the rear small pin. I don't know if theres a front and rear just one side and to the other.haha. I have a Bosch router and the pin distance is about 4 inches or 101.6mm CC and I want to adapted this unit if possible to my Bosch. Festool makes a unit similar to this one also but Bosch does not or at least does not import it to the US. Anyway good video this was the first one that really showed the guide adaptor up close. Looks like a nice unit. Thanks again.
Could you screen shot the video and show which measurements you need please?? Thanks for you comment and happy to help!! Is it just centre of pin to pin for the 1/2” router
