What was the location of this bar? We are trying to help my father in-law find it as he went here when he was in college.
It was located at 225 S. Front Street, the northeast corner of Front and Spring Streets, across from Getz's. Unfortunately, the building has been demolished and the site is now a parking lot.

Great info!
😍
Marquette is a very special place.
Remies last tavern left that has history dating back to Prohibition in Mqt. 90 years same name, 153 years a tavern. Marquette Historical Society info.
Car drealer moved in and jacked up all the rents on remaining businesses in mall to drive them out.
So glad it wasnt foul play. That poor older boy must've been heartwrenched for years.
I took ballet lessons with Mrs. Savitski!
That's amazing!
That's pretty cool.
Thanks for supporting us and commenting! It is a pretty great story :)
I was surprised Rum Runner's Cove, an abandoned dock for bootleggers during Prohibition, was not mentioned. You can still see the metal docking loops and cement landing.
Can you share the location?
@@nancyhaun Take the trail from Wetmore Landing south to the rocky point that sticks out in Lake Superior. (Just under 1 mile walk.)
Thank goodness that horrible stench is gone.
I'm sensing similarities to competitive shin-kicking here, but I do live in Green Bay so I'm kind of tempted to come check it out anyways 😆😆
I remember going into the little store in front to buy bread.
Mike also harvested ice from Dead River at the Tourist Park. His “ ice house” was located in the vicinity where the Industrial Park is now. The ice was stacked high and covered with sawdust from the lumber mill across the highway from the park. I grew up at the Tourist Park and Mike kept his tractor in our back yard when he wasn’t using it to load ice. The ice would stay frozen all year long until the following winter. He was such a kind man.😊
MQT messed Up getting rid of the powerplants....
Growing up, I remember these all over downtown. I hope the city works department will take the time to salvage any that may be lost due to repairs.
Excited by the title. Disappointed by the video. Literally almost zero actual information about guts, it's history, how it's played, who started it, why they did it. Basic journalism is dead.
This video is a 1 minute clip - a very small portion of an entire special exhibit on the subject - made to get folks interested in the topic. Visit the History Center (145 W Spring St, Marquette, MI 49855) to see the exhibit, or visit the Marquette Guts Frisbee Association Facebook page and check out the hour long live stream they posted of a Guts event hosted at the History Center from July 31. Thanks for watching our videos, there are a few more short clips on our channel about Guts Frisbee as well if you've got 3 minutes to spare!

A beautiful soul.
Poor boy scout at 20:15 is trying not to yawn.
Beautiful and solid looking buildings. I never understood the tear it down after 60 yrs mindset.
Thanks! Very interesting.
