...Once again, my inadequacy raises its ugly head and jeers at me, as I wrings a translation out of one of Ms. Hinayukki's (and Meiko's) hallmark songs--In fact, I should hope that I hadn't spoilt its beauty too much! *covers face in agony*
Useless information aside, senior Vocaloid fans should know that this is one of Meiko's most well-received songs, has been remixed multiple times and included in Ms. Hinayukki's first CD--"Fill e Tua"--as well as one of the Exit Tune Vocaloid Compilations, "Vocalonexus" (though I still hold a deep resent against them--for they place this majestic song besides the likes [and worse] of "Go Google It" U_U|||...Why can't they comply their popular songs by genre when there are more than enough to go in each and every category?!!); yet, it seems, the western Vocaloid fandom seldom knows it and it's always Chochita and that PVC-clad siren in shu-tP's songs instead of this elegant, enchanting, Oriental and unbelievably realistic Meiko that captures more attention.
Well, I have tried my humble best (though I failed to make it before the end of cherry blossom season...orz|||) to make a translation that is not too unsatisfactory--though, as it often occurs when we deal with Ms.Hinayukki's songs, I found it impossible not to take liberties from the text in order to make the translation tolerably intelligible...Still a lot to learn for yours truly, it seems! XD
(Oh, if only the translation sprung as easily as the original lyrics--as Ms.Hinayukki said in the original video description, she causally hummed a tune, causally set lyrics to it, did some causal mastering and had a 30k hit! O_o What a subtle way to boast about one's ingenuity...XDDD)
Notes:
0:40 - "朧月" is not only "moon in haze", but specifically refers to the full moon in the first days of spring.
1:03 - Of course, the dictionary's definition of "薄紅" is "pink"...but somehow this word sounds vulgar in a song like this, so I took some liberty again. XD
