Unfortunately no, jets spawn on the ground and require the player to take flight first.

@@ferrouscreek2946 That was a problem, old warlord has always been anti-air vs jets, jets is always destroyed on the ground by the enemy jet or the ambush near the airport

They are definitely still running, and even one of bohemia's official server's, EU11, runs the WSV version of warlords that may have more players at times. The WSV discord is here: discord.gg/FazcX37r Cheers!

I agree, there are some really good players in the community as well but yeah there are also trolls and worse.

The Warsim Vets server has Redux running 24/7, not found in the official tab. That is strange to hear about the official server performance. This stream took place on the official server running Redux: th-cam.com/video/YboJFqCKBkQ/w-d-xo.html And I've played Redux on the official server with around 40+ players, and the performance was really good then too for me. @@ferrouscreek2946 Maybe i shouldve been more specific, i filter out servers with crosshair and i only go for low ping EU servers. Some official servers perform ok or well idk, depends on the gamemodes i guess. But can someone teach those damn sauerkrauts some english? GER GER GER servers 99% of the list..

I'm glad you found the server and are enjoying the experience of Warlords Redux. On the WarSim Vets server we have disabled the fast travel to contested sector feature for matches before to increase the logistic/transport role for players who like that part of the game. Not sure what you mean about the supplies, my thoughts are that you may have tried opening the request menu while there was a sector vote happening. You must vote for a sector to be able to use the request menu, hope this helps!

@@ferrouscreek2946 Thanks for your kind reply. Yes, I know that when you have to vote for the sector, purchases of supplies are disabled. But yesterday they were disabled for a very long time with 18,000 CP available and there was no vote. I thought it was to simulate that the armed forces rightly do not have infinite availability of armaments. But you could buy soldiers, but not vehicles or crates of ammunition. In my opinion, the crates of small arms and ammunition should always be available as no modern army ever runs out of them. Instead, it makes sense to block the purchase of vehicles for a certain time after a certain threshold. In any case, excellent work.

@@ferrouscreek2946 How can I keep in touch with you? I would like you to let me know if you start a game of Warlord Redux without automatic transfer to the contested zones, so that I can participate. Is there a possibility in the near future that you will create a game of Warlord Redux without the automatic transfer option to contested areas? Troop transport is at least a quarter of the Arma game. Playing without this option, and increasing the number of men and units that can be controlled with the AI ​​would make the game much more strategic and tactical, involving the whole territory and not just the contested urban areas.

Join the WSV discord: discord.gg/ We have some regulars who play fairly often, and if there are any special events/parameters like not having fast travel to contested sectors, and additional subordinate units they will be announced in Discord. I am Iron in the discord (not FerrousCreek) and I'm on most of the time, but I've been busy with a lot of things this new year, so hopefully I can play more WL soon!

The only problem with such modded servers is that they tend to split the playerbase when there aren't enough players who support the additional content. Also some of the custom assets are difficult/impossible to balance against vanilla assets. However, I believe there are a few servers that may run a version of WL with CUP content, not sure though!

@@ferrouscreek2946 I think with a little marketing work you could easily get some traction behind modded servers. But first I think expanding into alternate maps is a better idea. Malden and Tanoa would be so badass. Then the players you already have will be introduced to some variety, and players who are interested in a change of scenery over Altis might jump in to grow the community. :)

@@neattricks7678 Malden for sure has been discussed as an alternative map, and I would love to see a good Tanoa port for Redux as well. Great idea!

@@ferrouscreek2946 Awesome. Malden would be a great start to appeal to those who are not able to stay for the 6 hour tug-of-war games Altis is infamous for. I'd love to see it for those days where I just don't have enough time. =)

I agree with pretty much every critical point that you have made here. At this point I'm just hoping these issues will be addressed in the next game for the ArmA series. I feel like the developers are well aware of most of the things you point out in your post, and hopefully will come up with a suitable solution for this situation. With that said, I still love ArmA 3 because there just aren't a whole lot, if any, other experiences that can be matched by even the vanilla game. Modders are certainly part of what has kept the game thriving all these years, but the developers, despite their faults and inability to fix these issues, have supported this game for much longer than most other developers support their products. Overall, I agree with your points, but unfortunately I don't think we'll see these things officially addressed for ArmA 3. Maybe modders can work a miracle and develop the perfect version of Warlords which solves the problems your post describes. Until then I'm eagerly anticipating whatever Bohemia Interactive have planned for the next ArmA title.

@@ferrouscreek2946 I don't like talking bad about the devs, but facts are facts. And, if more people _REALLY_ stayed on them about those simple problems, then they _would_ get fixed. For years, they have just let the scripters/coders/modders fix their broken game. That's just cheap/lazy/sad. Really, since OPF! Maps, etc are nice, but at least fix the Medic! This is where your pros v cons completely outweigh running the vanilla game on an official server. BTW, the most I have ever done is Visual Basic. But, I _know_ they could have made a working medic, since Arma 2, for sure. Yes, also, on Arma 3. I finally bought Squad about 3 months ago. It just cannot hold my interest. However, if I could not make my own little quick-play scenarios in Arma, I probably would have stopped playing Arma X long ago. (Actually, I did stop. It took me a long time to buy A3. And, I refuse to buy anything else since right before Contact.) NOTE: They could at least, _at least,_ EDIT -increase- speed-up the Medic heal time from 3x to 4x, (selectable in the interface). That would take almost no effort. Then, a player, player/Medic could at least heal an AI soldier that is limping around the battlefield. TY for the reply. And, I am not going to hold my breath on any of the above. :-)

Edit: For some reason I thought you were asking about flying controls, whoops! Scroll-wheel context menu will take care of most of your basic actions. I use WASD to move, Q and E to lean, hold shift to sprint and right click to pull up your sights. R is to reload, G will throw a grenade careful with this one it can be hard to aim. Holding CTRL while pressing some of these buttons will will result in different functions. I think that should be enough to get you started though! Flying either a jet or chopper consist of a few similar actions such as turning on collision lights, and lifting landing gear after taking off. I do most of these actions via the scroll-wheel context menu. Throttle/lift is shift, and deceleration/descent is Z, some aircraft have targeting cameras which can be accessed by holding CTRL and right clicking. These are just some basic examples, it would be a good idea to try out some of the single player scenarios to familiarize yourself with the controls and make changes if needed. The AI under your control have to be ordered to move manually. You could give a group of ai move commands through a town to patrol where you want them to go, but it all has to be done manually. Hope this helps!

Don't play on Ultra.

This is the strategic view, and by default it is bound to the . key on the numpad. If your keyboard doesn't have a numpad you can re-bind it in the configuration menu. Also, this view is only available if you are currently controlling AI subordinates. Hope this helps!

Yea well what I think I found is that normally if you put down an AI unit it will not do anything but do its unassigned default AI thing. Weirdly, however, when I set that AI to be "playable", it still stood there BUT it started buying units. Sadly those units did not attack sectors or anything, they just stood there and guarded their base. I'm now experimenting to get a PVE Warlords match properly working. Might gonna use the Spawn AI and Sector Tactic modules and stuff like that, however it won't work perfectly if I do that as then the scenario is using 2 different occupy systems at once. Seriously tho, why can't there be just one such system that works for everything? I just wanna create a warzone where there's 2 AI sides spawning their units and fighting over zones automatically, and there's you on one of the sides just taking a smaller part in the battle by being one of the squad leaders, who can buy himself equipment and squadmates as a plus. Don't die, intercept enemies, and help your side be the winner. I'm not that far from getting it working.

I would suggest looking at your configuration and video settings. One of the best ways to give performance a boost is to reduce view distance, and turn down terrain details. I'll try to get out more info about the settings I use, as well as my PC's specs to give an example. Hope this helps in the meantime, and have fun!
