Haha, this looks like fun and totally reminds me of the old Wolfenstein and Doom games!

For sure, we’re seeing more games that focus on the early Roman periods, but there are still some that dive into the late Roman Empire and Byzantium. Honestly, some of the structures in these games don’t really look like they’re from ancient Rome.

I'm on a PC with an RTX 3060 and a 2K monitor at 2560x1440.

Yes, you can! However, go to this location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\eFootball (or wherever KONAMI is installed) and run Settings.exe to rebind keybinds. The keyboard mappings are there, and you can change them to whatever works for you.

Yeah, didn’t work for me either. Probably not compatible with Windows 10 or 11, but might work on Windows 7.

If you're looking for a Rome-themed game on consoles, Ryse: Son of Rome is a solid choice from Crytek, the developers behind Crysis. It’s a bit dated now, but the graphics still look good, and it’s one of the better big-budget Roman games out there. I get where you're coming from, but for me RTS games are all about the gameplay, mechanics, and balance... not just the graphics. Yeah, they might look a bit dated but they still seem solid. Take Age of Empires 4 or the Age of Mythology Remake; they might not be visually stunning, but the gameplay is still strong.

@MagicGameWorldTV I agree. But let's be realistic, the only games that really get more attention are the ones that bring something new to the table. And those that look and feel awesome to play. Unfortunately, graphics do seem to play a big role now a days. I to played age of empires and age of mythology... but would I want to play it in 2024?? Even if they tweaked them a bit? Technology has grown. RTS developers still seem to be stuck in 2010... how many RTS games can you say dam wow?? Broken Arrow is one of them that shows oky I know army rts games, but Damm, this game feels like something we have actually not seen before. But I also see your point of view... But still, people now a days spend a lot of money on pc or consoles to get that realistic feel.

I get what you’re saying! Broken Arrow definitely stands out, but at the end of the day, everyone’s taste is different. Some folks love the classic feel of older RTS games, even if they look a bit dated. Sure, a lot of people want those amazing graphics for their fancy setups, but some of us still enjoy the gameplay and mechanics of the classics. It’s cool to see what different people appreciate in games, and I’m excited to see how the genre evolves!

Just fyi sanctuary shattered sun has some level of terraforming like freezing a lake to move ground forces on and some way to blow the ground and send it into the sun.

To play with a controller, just plug it in! Steam usually picks it up automatically. If it doesn’t, go to Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings and turn on support for your controller. That’s it, you're ready to go!

I'm not entirely sure, though; it might be because the game only supports Xbox gamepads.

@@Dalibor_Novovic If you drop the resolution, it’ll probably make the text easier to read and fix any cut-off parts of the screen. The game’s old, so its original resolution is likely way smaller than your current desktop setup.

I totally agree... Baldur's Gate 3 is on another level when it comes to quality and depth, and there aren't many games that come close. But if you’re into this genre, those other titles are still worth checking out. They might not be exactly like BG3, but they do have some similar vibes!
