The Queen of the Skies | Lufthansa 747-400 Business Class Flight Review
My first ever flight on a 747; of course I had to do it in style!
EDIT - the seat map I have shown is actually from a 747-8; the 747-400 has a bit of a different configuration, specifically the lower deck being in a 2-3-2 layout and the upper deck only having 22 business class seats. Plz forgive me :)
How I booked:
70,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points transferred to Air Canada Aeroplan.
(88,000 United MileagePlus miles for my brother's ticket)
Airline: Lufthansa
Flight: LH 431
Date: August 7, 2024
Departing: Chicago, USA (ORD)
Arriving: Frankfurt, Germany (FRA)
Aircraft: Boeing 747-400
Seat: 81C

How Google Translate Reunited an Entire Family
มุมมอง 2982 หลายเดือนก่อน
Allow me to tell a little story about how my family here in the U.S. reconnected with our long-lost extended family out in Austria. My Great-Grandmother was born in Vienna and came to the U.S. as a child in the aftermath of the first world war, leaving behind some of her family in the process. As she and her siblings aged and eventually passed away, so too did our families' communication lines ...

Two Days Driving Australia's Great Ocean Road | Self-Guided Tour Through South Victoria
มุมมอง 306ปีที่แล้ว
One of the most epic road trips in all of Australia did not disappoint! My only regret is that we didn't have more time to explore more of the beautiful area of Victoria and all that it has to offer. If you find yourself down in Melbourne, I would highly recommend allocating some time for the Great Ocean Road. Some links I found very helpful in planning our itinerary: fullsuitcase.com/great-oce...

Jake Jones vlogs are my sustenance
I was on the same flight a few weeks before you in July! Review on my channel....I booked 3 tickets with LH Miles and More. I also was curious about the ear plus and why they were in the lav.
That SkyTeam Flyer (who also occasionally flies Star Alliance) 😁
Wow I love planes nice vid! Is your brother single by any chance?
Unfortunately for the comments section he’s taken!
It's LUFThansa, not LuftHANsa
Please pass the kind word your brother is so cute
32 seats upper deck is the 747-8 .
Actually liking lufthansa's J catering is a wild take I haven't heard before! I usually end up flying F if I'm unfortunate enough to fly LH, but maybe I'll give it a try.
@@martyjames5859 maybe the US airlines have just set a pretty low bar for my catering expectations…! Seems like most aren’t fans of LH catering
wrong product. you should have been flying Lufthansa First in the 747 1A directly in the nose. That's an complete other world so I do it several times a year.
Not a lot of people are served by a 747-8 and even fewer people have 6k+ EUR to spend _serveral times a year_ per leg.
@@olfrygt it only cost 91000 Miles and More Miles. And if you are SEN or above the second person pays half of that. not 6k+
Maybe one day…! Super hard to find award space for that seat here in the US 🥲
@@JakeJones It's not too hard if you are flexible (and just a solo traveller). Great review!
@@jans.4309 Lol. Miles and points are just other curencies. They don't grow on trees. Stop pretending expressing a cost in miles or points makes the cost go away. 91k miles are worth a butload of money.
Oh my gosh Jake, you did it!
Maybe one day, Mr. Paul!
Stunning!!
Whenever you’re ready to go back, give me a call! Park Hyatt is calling!
Surely won’t turn down that invitation!
Beautiful!
Unsure how I’m just now seeing this 😍
Stunning!!
The music and footage are paired so well 🙌🏼
Aloha! I need to get over to Maui!
Whenever you go, you know who to call!
One of my favorites in Europe as well!!
Love this!! I hope you tried the pasta bolognese!! 🍝
Bellissimo!!!! 🤌🏼
Good stuff! So cool you got to experience the upper deck of the 747! Also, your bro is pretty cute ngl
You know, he gets that quite a lot!
One might say he is cuter than Rick Steves 🫢
Great review
Imagine you are from the year 3000 seeing this. Those whom we recognize now would have all died and have lived in a completely different world.
What an incredible story! This whole video is so well done. Bravo!! Thank you so much for creating this masterpiece for our family!
Daughter of Gerhard Scharm - Granddaughter of Walter Scharm + Elisabeth Scharm here 🙋🏽♀️ so sad I couldn’t be there for your visit - hopefully next time 🎉
@@Wildhoneeey we will certainly be back soon 🫶🏻
Thanks for making this! I truly enjoyed it. Hoping to see more videos from you.
Appreciate it man!
If google was looking for a new commercial, they found it
Jake, this is beautiful. Thank you so much for documenting this. For someone in the family that has been kinda removed from all of this, I can't thank you enough for consolidating this all in one place. It's really commendable seeing you trace back your roots. And I feel like I have a jumping off point now into understanding the family tree. Great work man!
very cool watch
Dude, I'm 1 minute in and I got goosebumps!
So so so proud of you, Jake, and your grandmother, my dear sister, for putting this together. I still have tears in my eyes from being so grateful to be a part of our wonderful family of whom I love so much! ❤ I will cherish this forever!! Love you ❤
Loved the video man!!🤙🏾❤️
Beautiful
Booked Syd to LAX return in the window seat with the most privacy, can't wait!
Hope you enjoy the flight as much as I did!
Love! The moving background video gave some cool contrast effect. Beautiful pics man
Looks like it's right next to heaven. Great cinematography!
It’s about as close to heaven on earth as you can find…thanks for the kind words!
If you have to “survive” those 15 hours in economy on that same flight like I did, I recommend paying a little extra to select seat 80K. Great legroom with nobody in front of you. But, Jake is right. I’ve had the chance to fly business class and don’t really want to go back.😂
A great tidbit! There’s always a travel hack to be found…especially for those times when we can’t travel like kings 😉
Epic and stunning - just like you 😍
fantastical and magical to match from start to finish, if i could give a rating, i would say fantastic running up the hill utah, the place of wonder of jake drones vlogging
Please do a better job of showing the menu. Thanks!
Nice one Jake👍🏻 I've been trying to figure how t maximize benefit of that card. Even with the "technicalities" of domestic airfare, this is way better than full price.
Agreed! The card is definitely worth it for the first year with the sign up bonus…but I agree, unless you fly Alaska frequently, it may not be a long-term keeper card for everyone. I’m learning towards canceling mine soon since I’m not finding myself using it all that often with some of the other cards I have. Being based at ORD my primary airline has always been United!
Love it. My only visit to Sydney was in 2016…..One day we will be back to visit 🎉🎉🎉
One of my favorite cities ever...it hasn't even been a year since I was there and I already want to go back!
I really enjoyed your video . Very professional. I subscribed. Thanks.
Thank you, Craig! I hope to have many more videos like this one in the coming months. Thanks for subscribing!
Love it man. Always enjoy these videos
Appreciate you as always 🙌🏻
You’re quite the co-pilot if I do say so myself! Such a beautiful drive!! Take me back 😍🇦🇺🦘
Qantas do have a lounge in Tom Bradley. But not for OneWorld use. For Qantas club business and first passengers. No paid entry or free passes incl QFF invitation passes.
Incredible footage of my home. Love Sydney! ❤
What a breathtaking home you have! And the people - so welcoming!! I will surely be back
Yesss Sydneyyy
I dont think people realise you could holiday there for at least a month
Agreed! I'd even argue a whole month isn't enough time...the city has SO much to offer!
too funny- if you want to be technical.....and of course, if.....you can find award availability.
The hardest part of it all...! I actually used the website ExpertFlyer which is awesome, it lets you set alerts for certain flights for when award space opens up which saves soooo much time and hassle. It went down to the wire but I snagged my award seat about a month out!
