I have the VT40X and I like it, I ordered it along with a Boss Katana to audition them both, I chose the Vox as it has a tube on the preamp and I can use the bias and select between class A and A/B amps and the software is much better than the Katana software, the only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have an effects loop, I get around this by using the overdrive and distortion pedals and volume pedal on my pedal board and the modulation effects on the amp. I had to buy a stand for my laptop to be able to use the Toneroom software comfortably but it wasn't too expensive. I saved my own presets to the user banks and tend to use just those, I do use a couple of the preset lead tones though. I too found the controls very confusing to start with, its very intuitive. I have some single board computers and a 10" touchscreen that I am thinking of fixing to the amp with Toneroom running, it might work out ok it might not!

I want a les paul with slippy fretboard for easy sliding and bending.. also i want the string to be close to the fret board.. is this guitar suitable??

There's nothing wtong with it. Besides, it'll soon get properly beat up once you start using it. These thin satin coated ones are designed to wear fast so thee's no point in trying to keep it pristine. Use it, enjoy it.

Just got one very same colour. Really pleased and all good. Till the second day found a small crack in the headstock. Not bad but still putting me off. Going back to the store to have it checked out. Disappointed. 🤦🇬🇧

Great comparison👍 I really liked the Vox amp and the Fender 25 but I'm not sure about one thing: if I want to record a cover can I connect the Vox amp to a computer in order to record directly what I play without a microphone? I'm not sure if it's true but I heard that the fender lt25 can do this but Vox vt20x can't. What do you think?

The well known brands make their expensive guitars really well but not their budget ones. You cannot beat a Yamaha for the price.

Very thorough run down of Modern Lite LP, especially like the sustain test, very nice! Too bad about issues, but seems like typical Gibson QC for some years now. One I bought (2019 LP Special Tribute) was perfect no flaws, yet another one (used 2018 SG) was flawed, but plays wonderfully with a luthiers help. Now that the new LP Studio versions have been released in Sept 2024 they are at the same price of the LP Modern Lite in Canada (both are $2000CAD) and the new Studio is twice the guitar with coil taps and gloss finish (plus Blueberry Burst a first in a Studio). Maybe if the Modern Lite comes on a sale now (it should be $300-400 less but not likely) I might check one out, but I'll keep an eye for your issues.

Hey i´ve been watching your videos for a bit now and i´m new to guitar never played it in fact and i am interest in getting into it , i really like a bit of everything in terms of music but metal is king, i was thinking about buying the boss katana mini but 110 euros for the amp and 33 more for the transformer makes not as cheap as i tought, could you if i may ask give me any suggestion on witch amp to buy for about 150 euros?

I think the 2 i created is a whole lot closer. I made one version that sounds more stadium Arcadium/btw like. And my second tone is a little more compressed mirroring that of Blood Sugar Sex Magic.

I think all these TH-camrs are liars. I have a line6 but I keep hearing it sounds bad and the Boss Katana sounds way better. I bought the Katana because of this internet hype. The Katana was noisy even with the noise gate on and although it did sound good out of the box, I could not dial in the sound I wanted. On the other hand, the Spider's presets are not the best but you can dial it in. In particular, line6 models a Plexi amp that is over volted with a variac, no amount of knob adjustments will make any of the Katana model amps sound like that. I return the Katana because I could not dial in the sound I wanted and although the sound you get were good, they were also very generic sounding. The line6 is better because you can dial in any sound you like you just have to know how. The spider is very complex so I think most musicians give up blaming the amp as not good sounding when it's their inability to work the controls to get the sound they want. Watch this guy for example.

The gio may help if my fingers touch the wrong string because of the wider string spacing

I couldn’t tell any difference between the sound of the FG800 and the FG830. The APX609 sounded thin to me, but I like a warmer tone with more bass, which is why I prefer dreadnoughts.

That big ridiculous headstock is one hell of a dealbreaker on this model. I wish Fender would get rid of it on these.
