Movie Marquees of 1968 and 1979 - Shot in Super 8mm!
Wow.
Worth mentioning that was Brinke's own classic 1957 Ford Thunderbird. A car she had long lusted after. I can't quite read the license plate, but she did have a BRINKE plate for it for part of time that she owned it.
Yes indeed! Hey great to hear from you David, hope all is good!
@@excitedartists5994 Except I don't know you.
Excellent sir. Lovely memories indeed.
Very nice, Paul. Love that you lined up the shots to the original movie shots. Well done.
Thanks so much!
Now I know why you did not show up for Gatherall 6 in Wayne, NJ. How can you top being in the south of France?!
What a great time you had with Barbara Carrera and Mike Runyard. You should have requested an encore from Mike to do the famous motorcycle leap again.
Hi Paul- what’s the music in the second half of the video? Very nice.
I’m sorry,I’m not sure! If I find it I’ll get back to you!
I enjoyed her in Troma films Tromio & Juliet, Hellblock 13,Terror Firmer, & Bleed.
Carl Henry III, a frequent video controller.
I remember when that cult took over the hospital 😟
That was summer of 1980.
@@a.b.s_productions Are you sure 👍🏻?
@@jamesmcclelland1414I’m definitely sure! It’s online.
@@a.b.s_productions Well?
@@jamesmcclelland1414 Yes I’m sure it’s actually posted online.
What a horrible theme song. No wonder they cancelled it.
Great clips of giants of The American Passtime.
Wonderful Paul. Video and sound quality are off the charts.
Great time. Great folks. Great video!
"Promosm" 👉
You should do more videos, Paul Scrabo, this was great.
And that is a very young bearded Alec Baldwin in the credits. Looking mighty fine back then, hmm?
mighty.
Not sound dramatic, but this made me tear up. I still miss The Doctors even though it got crazy towards the end.
My wife and I just saw ourselves in the video. How fun it was and how fun it is to relive those moments! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks. Too bad Retro TV won't be showing this one.
I know.
Paul, Marvelous video. I recognize a few Bond aficionados from back in the day. I just subscribed to the channel to help support it...keep Bonding!
Awesome, thank you!
August 13 (Friday the 13th), 1982, to be precise.
Great stuff Paul. We loved this. Great location footage and brilliant seeing it presented like this. Very jealous.
That was a great video, Paul!
Many thanks!
I have got to go on one of these location trips. Many thanks Paul for allowing us to see these places.
Thank you!
That's Michael Wright doing the worst Bud Abbott impersonation I've ever seen. He looks like Ron Guidry dressed as a 1940s gangster, and he's acting like Rodney Dangerfield -- touching his tie and saying "What a crowd! What a crowd!" HORRIBLE!
Thanks for sharing, Paul!
Thanks!
This is just great !!! I used to make super 8mm movies too :) It looks to be about 6 reels of 50' film.
Wow, this convention would have definitely been right up my alley! I would love to have been there!
Oooh! Another great video Paul! Plus I am still a proud owner of the 1991 Laserdisc of IAMMMMW! The very first Laserdisc I ever purchased back in my Sophomore year of college in 2003!
Kevin is the man chiller is the convention best it's the best convention ever love it I've been going since 1993 You'll always have a great time
Paul was my next door neighbor
It's a shame there was such a rough edit when Dick Tufeld was doing his iconic Robot lines.
There was a tape error right at that spot, unfortunately!
That was my first presentation in the lobby when we were fighting to save the theater from demolition. The theater was not usable and was still triplexed plus the original projection booth had been stripped of equipment and was basically a pigeon coop. This tremendously successful weekend in August 1992 began to convince people the theater was truly a viable destination for classic films. We had lines for this event all the way down Kennedy Boulevard and it was a huge success!
Thanks for posting! This is when the Loews was still showing films in the theaters lobby before the instillation of new seats. Spotted Brian Bavosa (wonder if he’s still on “This Island Earth”?).
Debbie Rochon is a national treasure
How can this be only 35 likes Debbie Rochon was my first Troma crush
At 7:46 Dick Tufeld said that for the voice of the robot Irwin Allen said he wanted "Something Like HAL in 2001". However, 'Lost In Space' aired 3 years before '2001: A Space Odyssey' was released.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I have always been a HUGE die hard LIS fan!! Have loved ALL of the Irwin Allen shows!!
Hey Rich that was interesting & informative. All 3 Authors Tom, John & Michael all seem to agree Lugosi had a lack of versatility to some degree. But I cant agree with that. In the movie The Dead Eyes of London A K A The Human Monster, Bela plays 2 parts and he was very versatile. And when he plays Igor, He delivers a very unusual different voice, A great voice. I believe the fault lies not with Bela but with the men who had the creative control and the final say in the films. Bela and his career were totally misused for the most part. He should have been in so many of the Universal movies. They constantly shifted all their actors around anyway. So why not Bela ? They just never treated him with any respect.
Thanks for the memories! Great timing, we were just watching Casino Royale last night 😊
This hit the spot!! Great video!
Thank you Joe!
I was there , by accident, arrived in LA that friday on vacation and heard of the event on radio, so a changed my plans to attend that Saturday . Met Don Adams ( Army Map Service 1954 .. Defense Mapping Wash DC where I worked ), James Darren, Rober Colbert, Del Monroe, Lee Merriwather, Deanna Lund, Gary Lockwood... All very nice guite friendly . Attended Starcon 98 year later met Grace Lee Whitney,
I noticed Terry Becker (aka Sharkey in Voyage) seemed a bit disinterested in Voyage. Where he says "I have not watched it in 30 years, and don't remember anything". As an actor myself, if I were in his situation and asked to appear at a function like this, I would make the effort to track down some videos of Voyage, just to refresh my memory about the show. Whatever. No big deal. Still a great convention to watch on TH-cam decades later.
This is fantastic! Robert Colbert from Time Tunnel. The Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea Lobster Man actor talks about speaking in a British accent! This is one video that will make your day! Thanks!
Thank you, Stuart!
That was fun. And if those projects were completed, then I say 'congratulations'. Many movies are dreamed, with few started, and fewer completed.
Great to see that giant Alien poster.
Debbie Rochon is an awesome human being
Great to see all these stars together. The Robert Culp interview is precious. I was there to see the great show Matt Sherman and his team produced. Never to be topped.
It's the greatest celebrity show every created at the best location. The most and biggest stars. Matt Sherman's great creation. I was setting up my table when a man walked by on the way to his table. He said, "Is it true that the early bird gets the worm?" I answered, "Yes, but who wants worms." It was David Hedison. I got that worm answer from 'Wacky Plagues' when I was a boy.
Amazing stuff, Paul...glad you're using your down time to digitize and share these precious NY memories...Thanks.
