pretty cool new strat I found where you get rid of the slidekick to set up your distance and you just jump and tap down instead. Although the biggest timesave is making Mario face left before going first person so the camera doesn't have to travel as far (it's so slow in first person) Honestly you could get a 31s time if you landed right on to the switch instead of having to run to it after cli...

This video was made by Astix and I Making the early cycle was known about for a bit but it was never looked into until now. The fastest cycle in this video doesn't seem to be rta viable yet but early cycle is definitely worth doing in runs as it saves almost 2 seconds and can be done pretty consistently.

Is there a consistent setup for the jump at 0:22? I always miss it Also, how do you keep mario from turning right during the first jump?
For the jump at 0:22 , you want to run on the ground a couple frames before your triple jump because if you jump on the first frame you land you will get less height on your jump and it becomes way harder to make On the jump at the start you need to do the triple jump on the 2nd frame you are on the ground... the first frame will cause you to single jump and anything past the 2nd frame will make you turn around

@@donpietro2137 It takes a bit of practice to do. This game runs at 30fps so timing frame perfect tricks aren't as inconsistent as 60fps games
How does the rng manipulation for the silver rabbits work?
No way! Great tutorial I already knew how to do it with mario but with this method I'm consistent with Yoshi as well
I don't get how you learned all these tricks. There are like few to no video's about speed running tricks in SM64DS smh The one I'm curious most about, is how you climb up such a steep slope at 1:17:27 without TA
I've been playing the game for a couple years and we have a speedrunning discord where we share strats For steep slopes you can roll your finger from A to B to slidekick and recover quickly
This game is underrated for speed running. I like watching this just as much as the original SM64, maybe even more because the characters add a lot of versatility to the route
