how I got printed in my favorite skateboard magazine
You can tell that this is a photographer's magazine. The huge size of the paper and print quality offer a great viewing experience.
This will be so much fun to look back on later!

so fire bro!
Thank you very much!
That's not even a book it's just images
most photobooks are made up of images :)
Im surprised this doesnt have more attention to it.
The book?
@AbelKleinblatt yeah
I kind of like that it’s more niche and less in the mainstream. I think it would’ve been designed way differently if it was done by a bigger publisher
PUBLISHED BY DOAKES? AS IN THE BAY HARBOR BUTCHER??? (Ignore me, I'm autistic)
WAIT WHAAAAAATTTTTT TELL ME MORE
haha no worries, my brain works kind of similar but it's usually a Harry Potter reference in my case 😂
japan seems cool but then i think of loli
and that makes it un-cool? loli is such a small niche compared to all of Japan, you'd probably never run into that stuff if you were to avoid it
I think that every country has its bad sides and things you'd rather avoid. Yet, I think there's mostly a flipside that offers other perspectives as well. Like @fallenstoryteller2143 says, there are so many other things that make up that country. And you'll most likely find things that will make you feel good things and enjoy yourself! For example, the design ethic and history in Japan is what draws me to want to experience and visit the country :)
stereotyping and basing your opinion of an entire country based on a select few weirdos is lowkey kind of racist man
Seems really cool and helpful, as an artist and book hoarder
Fellow book lover 🤝! I used to be an art book librarian and try to keep the act of recommending interesting publications going on here :)
I feel like this is one of only shorts that actually teach/tell something
I take that as a huge compliment! I always try to add some value in my videos that people can do with what they want :)
I really like this. それはマジで好きです.
It’s a great book!
what's the song at the 5 min mark
Star Gazer by Ryan James Carr!
Woah, that's super good! I'm always amazed how talented you are in different fields of design/art 🤩
ah thanks for the kind words! Just trying to enjoy myself as much as possible :)
So good, dude. Always inspiring!
Thanks, Matt! Right back at you! 🫶🏻
Oh this makes me want to watch it again
I think I’m also due for a rewatch. Enjoy!
This is brilliant, I have no experience in this world but I'll be getting this book as a Christmas gift for a friend who loves the movie 🍿
Great gift! It holds other projects that Annie Atkins has done as well!
that turned out sooooo sickkkk petition for Oan to take over your channel!! loool
@@its4m4L hahaha he’s in so many videos at this point, he’s basically a second host 😂
Hahah really. As the supervisor of the order I'd be like "Why is every corner so uneven.... are you sure we didn't mess up the order....?
@@its4m4L hahaha same. I did send them the original as a reference :)
can i know what was that fish eye filter
Which fisheye? For the final photo I used a 8mm Samyang. The one that I hold in front of the pink camera is a Nikon Fisheye converter FC-E8 0.21x
So damn nice vídeo! I wish one day you could one just about Ishod house, his crib looks so sick, and trough your eyes must be something nice to watch and enjoy! Nice work m8!
Are these patches available? Would love to support!
They are! I have a link to the orderform in my IG bio :) Thank you 🙏🏻
hey man cool video! was wondering, where did u get the thermal heat print camera? I've been looking around amazon but none seem to have that dotted print out look you showed here... pls lmk! :)
Hi! Thank you! Mine is from a brand called Subosi. With the naked eye it’s hard to see the halftone look but after I scan them and enlarge them it becomes clear :). At least with the one I have, can’t speak for others of course
@@AbelKleinblatt tysm!! ill check it out ;)
it's so cool
Thank you!
so underrated what you do... the creativity and execution is on another level!
Thank you! I appreciate it! Just having some fun, I’m happy I get to do this :)
I’d rip and frame a few, love that style I’m imagery
Ahhh this looks so good man! Love seeing the process
Thanks, Nick! Super glad you enjoyed it
Your videos are the best
Aahww thanks, Alex ❤️
wauw! very pleasant watch again. grote inspiratie en je hebt men creatief brein geïntrigeerd! big fan
Dankje, Maurice! 🫶🏻
Super sick!
Thanks!!
Congrats!! Love your videos man I'm curious if you could share what kind of hat that is? (totally understand if not) I wear black hats for work and I've been searching for that exact style.
Thank you! And of course, send me a DM on Instagram and I'll send you all the details!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
🙏
Yoooo it turned out soo amazing! Congratulations on the opportunity! I am happy to be part of the early gang Abel hehe. Also I am always in owe of your ideas and how you capture the movement of tricks that to me go so fast (who cannot skate, just thinks it looks cool lol) in such a beautiful way. So cool!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I always wonder if people that don't skate can enjoy what I make, so I'm really pleased that you mentioned it!
@@AbelKleinblatt Oh. For some reason I assumed most of your followers were not from the skating community lol, so it is interesting to see you mention that as well hahah But I find it all so inspiring! (Perhaps even more because it is out of my own field of hobbies and expertise so everything about it looks magical to me)
I think it’s a good mix of people that like design but a big part will most likely be skaters I think. That doensn’t mean that they can’t appreciate other things of course. I just never fully knew if people that don’t have that background are interested in things like this. Because from my experience, mostly in art school, people dislike skating hahah
Proficiat! kan alleen maar dromen om zo'n telefoontje te krijgen. :D
Dankje!!
sick project! love from brazil Abel!
oh sick! Obrigado!!
I love you shared the process and I didn’t expect the surprise at the end to be this sick let’s goooo
thank you very much!! Glad you liked the ending :)
Such a sick concept and came out perfect!
thank you!!
Loose Ends by Maria Giuseppina & Grasso Cannizzo It’s really something special!!
Going to check it out! Thanks!!
I don’t know if you can find good photos or descriptions of the book on the internet… maybe… But if you want I can send you pictures of the book via IG? The book is about architecture, so I think you would enjoy it:))
Oh yes please! That would be lovely
that is UNDERRATED
It’s a great book!
Love this video! Next up BX?
Thank you! I'll think about it, I'm not too familiar with BX. Will have to do some research first
it is fun
well thank you! :)
This is so cool. I actually feel like you are one of the few people who bring something of value to yt. Keep it up!
Thank you so much for the very kind words! I’m glad to hear that this added some value to your day :)
I'm not a skater but I do live in Antwerp so it's cool to see my city from this point of view and presented in a fresh way
I’m super glad to hear that it was interesting to you as a non-skater! Thanks for letting me know!
thank you!! cool to hear about ben Sledsens ones too
Thank you! The show is still up, definitely worth checking out!
@@AbelKleinblatt awesome!! Thanks!
If this was a few days ago, it’s very possible to saw you. A lot of these places are areas I’m regularly around in Krakow. In particular, I think I saw you around the building @ 0:28 as my bus was coming to the nearby stop.
@@veretigovi6316 this was somewhere last month :) that would’ve been so cool though
@@AbelKleinblatt Ah, damn - saw someone taking photos of that building, so evidently you're not the only person who finds it interesting! Still a very high chance I saw you and just don't remember it now. Hope you enjoyed Krakow! There is a lot to see; I don't know if you saw the nearby Wieliczka Salt Mines, but if not, totally worth another trip to Krakow just for it! There is a gargantuan chapel carved into the stone, living quarters, underground rivers, etc. A medium-sized town could probably live down there if they had sufficient food reserves.
I didn’t get to see that! I was only there for a short trip. Sounds super cool!
WOW The pictures are so beautiful! ❤
Thank you! Definitely some interesting spots over there!
@@AbelKleinblatt Yeah:D
Amazing content!!! My new favorite youtube channel. What printer do you use to print the photos?
So sick to read that, thank you! For the final spread I used my home printer, the Epson ET-2850
This was so sick Abel! Would love to skate Antwerp one day. We have the exact same gloomy grey sky in London haha
Thank You! Yeah, our gloominess has made its reappearance haha. Let's count the days until late next spring hahahaha
Woa my man , i just found your channel, pure fire subscribed! One question what lens you used to take the pics with the fuji, that fisheye is gold! did you adapt it ?
Thanks! I used a Samyang 8mm fisheye and it's adapted indeed. I used to have it for my Canon before I switched to Fuji but it works perfectly!
very stylish and laid-back video :)
Thank you!
Huge inspo man! Now I want to get a wider fisheye lens for my camera hahaha. Which one did you use for this sesh?
Thanks! Haha sick, for the final digital images I used a Samyang 8mm fisheye that I used to have for my Canon and adapted it to my Fuji
@@AbelKleinblatt thanks for the info man! I might get one like that, maybe a 6.5mm Meike. The one I already have is the TTartisans 11mm for full frame and it works/looks great, but I’d love to own a wider one for closer shots and pics
Arthur, the guy who filmed some of the clips in this video, films with the Meike 3.5mm on his actual skate work. Which looks really sick! Not sure which mounts they offer though
Brooo, what a cool video! You have a really nice vission and the whole idea and vibes of the video were great! Would love to see more!
Thank you!
Very cool! What's the thermal heat camera you're using?
Thanks! It's a Subosi cam I got off of Amazon
where did you get your glasses? they look great
They are great! Super pleased with them. They’re from a brand called ‘Ciomo!’
@@AbelKleinblatt thanks. Maybe I'll choose one of theirs for my new pair
