Which zone are you
I am in zone 7b
Hi I was wondering if you winter sow and if so can stock be winter sowed?
Are you referring to winter sowing in like a milk jug? Or do you mean direct sowing into the garden? If you are going to have a bit of a warm spell I bet you could direct sow. They can withstand temps to at least 23 degrees or so. You definitely could sow them with the milk jug method if you don’t have a green house or sunny window.
@ I was asking about the milk jug method. I am in 6b
TY - I have seen people pot them up first and was wondering why couldn't I just put them into the ground and bypass that step, lol. I have 1/2 raised bed from last season that is putting out new growth and wanted to take cuttings for the other half of the bed and looks like that's what you do - yay! Would it be a benefit to put the stem in a root cutting hormone to help it along?
I am sure it wouldn’t hurt to put them in rooting hormone! Might increase chances of success that much more. I have always just stuck them straight in the ground though ☺️ thanks for watching!
@@thegrace-filledgarden TY for the quick response! I think I will try it - can't hurt and with Spring around the corner it will be a good test!!! Great video too so I started following you :)
Hi. Is this rose still alive?
Hi! Yes, it is ☺️
What state are you in? What's the climate?
Hi I am in the Midwest zone 7. Very hot summers, can get down below zero in winter on occasion, but winter temps generally stay in the 20-30s at night.
What is the size of this green house?THKS!
Hi! It is roughly 7’x8’
Have you painted theetair greenhouse in and out ?that woud be redce the expention.
Hello, what area are you in eg. zone and what is your last frost date?
Hi! I am zone 7 with an average last frost date of April 8th
Do also consider we like the appearance of the rose to be more coffee color when we are away from the property as we like the appearance of it that way from the outside looking at it. When we are at the property well and often, we do hold them per standard of original intent in the garden.
When you bring them indoors over the winter do you water them and keep them green or do you let them “hibernate”?
I have them in my greenhouse right now in pots, I cut them to the base basically. They have some fresh growth now. I’m sure if you kept them in a cold garage you could let them be dormant as long as you watered them occasionally.
Thats a good idea with the bucket of water, I'm going to add that now.
I think it definitely makes a difference ☺️ thanks for watching
Yes ,, i watch your video,, that you suggest me ,, so much love from India 🌿
Can we plant bare roots plants directly into ground in garden area ??
Yes! I have a video on my channel of how I plant Bareroot roses specifically
@thegrace-filledgarden okay thanks for your answer
gorgeous
Buy roses that recommended for you USDA Zone.
Beautiful rose! Thanks for sharing. I'm adding this rose on my wanted list.
It’s definitely a worthwhile addition 🥰
Thanks for the review! I'm building mine now and your lessons learned have been helpful.
Glad to hear it was helpful to you! Best wishes on your greenhouse ☺️
Where did you order the cuttings from, thank you.
Oregon Chrysanthemum and Hosta - I have them linked in the video description ☺️
Que maravilha!!! Gratidão infinita
Mmmmm❤
Isn't that Spotted Bee balm aka horsemint
Very similar! but I believe it is a different cultivar of beebalm
What zone are you in?
7b -hot hot summers
When Wal-Mart starts bareroot rose plants in Georgia. I need florabanda rose plants
My best guess would be late February or early March
They are so expensive, does anyone know where I can get them for a reasonable price?
What is your budget? You can buy a small one for about $25.
@@thegrace-filledgarden Yes, I know how to take care of the plant, please let me know if you are selling. Thank you!
How lovely 😊
Thank you! 😊
Did they get any mildew?
My other varieties of zinnias definitely get mildew bad by the end of the season. The Oklahoma varieties do seem to have a better resistance.
Lovely ❤
Thank you so much.
They are so beautiful! I love the peachy/pinky colours 😊
They are my favorite zinnias! ☺️
Thanks for sharing. This video was very informative & helpful
I am glad to be helpful to you ☺️ thanks for watching!
I'm going to give barefoot a try
Violas are my favorite because they last a lot longer. They are great through most of the summer. I save seed and sow planters that bloom all winter. Bunnies and deer love them so I put my planters on my deck next to my sliding doors. It's my winter garden!
I have found violas mounds grow larger aswell! I wish that nurseries would carry more colors. I definitely should try to grow them from seed some year 😊
Straight to the point and very well explained
Great info. What zone are you in? We have the same problem here in New England. Almost nonexistent spring 😢
I am in zone 7, we get into the 90s starting June basically. I bet they would do beautifully for you in New England!
@@thegrace-filledgarden thank you!
Is this 8x6? 🥰
It’s a little closer to 8x7 ☺️
What seed mix or what sorts are they? They are stunning 👍👍👍
It’s a climber, suitable for covering a tank in a garden in Australia. It’s meant to be abundant and allowed to grow fully not pruned back like here.
I believe it could cover a tank! 😆 mine only now this year has really taken off and made 20ft long canes. I have never really pruned it substantially, just one or two canes here and there.
Hi! This is just the video I was looking for. I've never grown zinnia before and wow, they're beautiful and over 4 1/2 feet tall! They're all different colors and shapes. A couple weeks ago I saw snowy mildew starting, took leaves off but now it's on every leaf. Can I still harvest seeds? My sister said zinnia always get this? They're still blooming too, and maybe only 4 or 5 dried out blooms so far. Do I just have to throw them all away because of the mildew on the leaves? Tia for answering. I subscribed and can't wait to see all your videos. 🙂 Edit: I just saw your $tree gardening finds video from a yr ago. Those are the zinnia seeds bought this year. The Freesia seeds never came up and out of about 14 gladiolus bulbs, I only got 4 that bloomed.
You absolutely can still harvest the seeds even with powdery mildew. Mine always get covered with it this time of year as well. Regardless, I think zinnias are one of the must have flowers growing in everyone’s summer gardens! Thank you for subscribing and best wishes on all your future gardening endeavors! 🤍
@@thegrace-filledgarden thank you so much! Yes, I love them, they grew so beautifully. I enjoy watching the bees that come to them, especially the big bumblebees.
All you put was "dirt". Is there not some necessity for amendments; manure, something?
If you question the fertility of your soil, never a bad idea to add some amendments, but I have found peonies to not be too terribly picky about soil just asking as it is well draining :)
I have had my Abraham Darby rose for probably17 years now. It's a wonderful rose except that it does get blackspot and I don't spray for it. It has a lovely scent such a beautiful color blooms.
Wow! How nice that you have had it for that long! I am looking forward to mine getting more mature☺️
I also do not spray anything in my garden or our lawn. I'm in zone 9 in Houston and its already very humid but we've had so much rain this year and some of my roses have black spot. Thanks for this video.
Great info
These are absolutely GORGEOUS 💜🤍
I brought some from a discount store, and its growing beautifully. It's not the best quality roses, but it's my first set of roses, very proud 🎉🎉
That’s wonderful!! Best wishes on your new roses and all your gardening in the future 💕
Wow
Ive been trying to research this rose on the internet and there aren't a lot of videos! Love everything about it so far thank you! What zone are you (i'm 5b)? Do you have to heavily mulch it or lift it for winter?
It’s a favorite of mine for sure! I am in zone 7 but we get below zero several times a winter. I have not given either of them very much of a mulch covering in the winter and they both have done well without much -to- any die back.
Great update, we have 1 more build day on ours. Long Island NY. Thanks for the tips.
Thank you! Best wishes on your greenhouse ☺️
So how would you bread cactus Zinas with California Giant Zinas it looks a little different than the Cactus Zinas.
My zinnia has only seed skins. I think the birds beat me to them. Finches love these.
Exactly what I want to see today.
