Subaru Family Adventures logs the adventures of a family of 5. Right now we have a 2011 Subaru Outback Limited 2.5i, and we plan to get the Subaru Ascent in 2019. We love to have adventures as a family and explore new areas. Sometimes we team up with others which makes it even better.

Off-road Trails: Radford, Skyline, and Clarks Grade in Southern California in a Subaru Outback
Off-roading in my 2011 Subaru Outback in the San Bernardino Mountains (near Big Bear) in Southern California with my two boys.
Started at the bottom of Radford near Hwy 38. Went across on Skyline and then returned down Clarks Grade to Steven Oaks Road which took us back to Hwy 38. Radford is easy, Skyline is very easy, and Clarks Grade has cliffs but also some tricky places. It's steep in some areas but going down made it easy. Any car with at least 8.7" of clearance should be fine. My difficulty was not having a spotter.
Used a GoPro Hero5 on a Karma Grip for the video.

Off-road Trails: Fish Creek, Sandstone Canyon in Anza Borrego - So California in a Subaru Outback
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Off-roading in my 2011 Subaru Outback with some friends in an Acura MDX and another Subaru Outback in Anza Borrego in Southern California (East of San Diego). Pretty easy off-roading with beautiful sites. Only need AWD if you go through deep sand. Used a GoPro Hero5 on a Karma Grip for the video. #Subaru #SubaruOutback #SubaruLove #SubaruNation #SubaruOffroad #Offroad #Offroading #Mtnroobrother...
Off-road Trails: Cleghorn in Southern California in a Subaru Outback

Off-roading in my 2011 Subaru Outback in the San Bernardino Mountains in Southern California with my two boys in June 2017. Started off the 15 fwy near Cajon Junction on Cleghorn road (NF-2N47). Continued on NF-2N47 until it ended up at the 138 Hwy near Silverwood Lake. Cleghorn has many side trails that are much more difficult than the main path, so its a fun off-road trail for all off-road ve...

Then we took North Shore Drive, and then Stanfield Cutoff to go across the lake, then B...

Off-roading in my 2011 Subaru Outback in the San Bernardino Mountains (near Big Bear) in Southern California with my two boys in April of 2017. Went up hwy 38, then Mill Creek Road, 1N09 and finally 1N16. Love how the GoPro Karma Grip keeps the video nice and smooth with the GoProHero5. Shortly after this video I got BFG K02 tires. I loved the Michelin Premier A/S tires but they aren't good for...

Fun!!! Do you have a lift?
thanks for posting this
I take my Forester here all the time. The trial is much more ruff then it used to be a lot more fun now
Thank you for sharing. I've also been.een on that trail.
Cvt or Manual?
dito! Good question. My guess is CVT
@@finder2267 most likely!
Do you have a lift on your Outback?
Yes, 1.6" from Primitive Racing.
That Karma Stick is a game changer!! I need to get one! Although I only have a Hero 4 session and it doesn't have video stabilization. I've mostly been using my iphone 7 for the 4k video and vid stab lately. I love all the video angles, great work! You're able to upload your video's at a higher bit rate now. I think TH-cam capped the bit rate at 8000 kbps before, but now they let you upload higher. I found that a bit rate of 15000 kbps at 30fps works pretty good for a nice sharp 1080p image. keep up the great work brother.
Yes, I love the Karma Grip! I have other videos with the GoPro6 and its better than the GoPro5. But not much better. I use iMovie for my editing, and it doesn't let you export at 4k. I should probably invest in better editing software.
If you have a PC, I can recommend a fairly cost effect program called Wondershare Filmora. It has an interface that is somewhat similar to iMovie and it's only $34.99 or something like that. Aww man, you gave me the idea to change my youtube channel name. I call what I do with my Subaru "adventuring" and JonDeeZee just didn't make any sense. I didn't want to bite off your name and I thought of other words to use like: Expedition, Overlanding, Exploring, Car Camping, but those names didn't fit in with what I do. So thanks for the idea, but I hope you don't mind :P
