How does the mineral bezel hold up ? Any signs of wear and tear

I almost bought a Casio Oceanus but instead found the Seiko SBTM325. It's the same kind of solar quartz movement with radio synchronization. I'll probably end up getting an Oceanus eventually though

I wanted a full size claymore but with a tanto blade. Guy at work who buys and sells all kinds of stuff offered me a ranger green Claymore full size with drop point blade. I looked at it and thought about it for a while, then said I'll take it. Half price, used but still slightly sharp so I sent it in to Benchmade, they cleaned it, lubed it and sharpened it and did so well, that it's the second sharpest knife I own. My buck 110 auto I just got is the only one sharper. I ended up buying a black handle tanto claymore and now I want a mini! I wish they had a tanto for those, but I dig the drop point in that model now so now I want to get one. You are paying for the name, but the service they did for me on 3 used ones is incredible I have to honestly say. I took off the old clips to have spares and had them replace all 3 and they did it free. Then I bought 5 standard clips because I like those best and they didn't send screws which I thought was weird, so I used the two I had with the stock clip. I wrote that in my review of the product, and someone from Benchmade responded to me and said I can go on the site and request parts, tell them the model and they'll send the screws for free! I did it for one model so far and they're about to be on the way! Their customer service is top notch and I think you can get other screws and parts free too. I also bought 4 new ones from them and they have all been outstanding.

i just got the black label chelsea in shinki shell. the leather is stunning, the feel underfoot is exactly as i would hope and very satisfying. the half sole is a nice touch. unfortunately one of the pull tabs sheared of and not at the point of stitching. thought about fixing it but if you cuff your denim they get hung up on those pull tabs, which could partly explain why fabric is used on those parkhursts. so i had to cut them both off. disappointing but i still am pleased with the overall product especially given the quality of materials for the price. i do think the shape is interesting. looks a bit like a narrow square toe, something to consider if that works for you.

One of the main reasons I have not bought an Emerson yet is because I heard that lock stick can be common with them. That said if these dont I might need to try one now.

If the toe is a bit longer and tapered, Thursday can give RM a run for the money.

A bit too dressy for my tastes and the price makes it right in line with some much better offerings that I would rather go with since they are proven products.

Got a deal on this knife and it has been an ideal daily companion. I dont like compression locks on smaller knives, i dont like choils on bigger knives. I like how this handle is closer to knife edge. Its also one spyderco that’s actually reasonably priced. The k390 version retails for less than a base sage 5 lw in s30v. I paired mine with a victorinox rambler and its my most satisfying edc set-up in years

I have 2 stretch xl g10 models. Took the lanyard tube out of one,it was hitting the blade. I’m definitely gonna swap a pd#1 blade into one of the g10 version. Some rit dye and ti hardware will make a really nice knife. Thanks for taking the time , I know those backlocks are a pain in the ass. Took my police 4 lw apart when I got it,I had black hardware I bought for an endura and put them in the police. Had to go on TH-cam and figure out that you have to put the whole knife together with the lock bar. Good stuff thanks again 👍🏻

“Not good quality” Thursday is famous for great quality boots for the $200 range. Just because it has synthetics, it doesn’t mean they are “cheaply made”. I have Grant stone and Parkhurst boots which are much more “traditionally made” boots and I love them. Not everyone wants a traditionally made boot man

I just ordered the black label challenger, I am a size 11 1/2 in sneakers sometimes 11. I don’t know why I went with the half a size smaller and instead of getting an 11 I got a 10 1/2. I still haven’t received them, but I hope that when I do they actually fit but I highly doubt it. Now I’m pretty sure that the last used in this boot isn’t the same as the last in the Challenger because it’s not the same style of boot but I definitely feel like I should have gone with 11. We’ll see

Very Good video man. I watch your knife videos, and I like the boot stuff now as well. The Black Label Thursday line is very tempting. We need more competition for the PNW guys, they have a corner on the market if you need a high-arch, all leather boot. It will take a lot to get me away from Frank's, but I might have to try the Thursday's out.

For $200. The standard Thursdays are pretty good entry price for a GYW boot. Not every one is looking for the old school veg tan, they tapped into a massive market that wasn’t into too boots. Not shocked they made this higher line, they now have their own factory. Have more control of their entire process.

Wish they did c.f. scales like the Kapara. With the contoured sweet look. I imagine there will be scales available at some point. I wonder if the scales from the og 3 would fit if those are out there

Spyderco’s newer back lock designs generally have the “kick”/ ricasso of the blade land right above the point where the lockbar pivots. This solves that problem with the blade closing too much. Another solution is to add an extra stop pin onto the blade that stops it closing too far and stabilizes the whole mechanism. You see this in the Chaparral. The Centofante is an older design that might have predated these improvements. Although, I don’t recall hearing about this problem on the FRN versions. A one handed closing method that might help mitigate the problem is to keep your pointer finger in the opening hole when you disengage the lock and use it to guide the blade closed.

I have a few Thursday Boots, both boots and shoes. I found that I needed to go down one whole size for the Chelsea style boots, but only a half size down for the Captain's. So my Captains are 10.5's and my Chelsea's are 10's. This new black label is very nice looking for sure.

Yeah Thursday definitely turned it up a notch for these Chelsea's. I wear Blundstone Chelsea boots pretty exclusively, but these are more dressy so I'm considering it. I have tried Danner Chelsea boots too and they are good, but not as good as the Blundstone imo.

Dude, thanks for the shoutout! I actually didn't realize that the edge was making contact further up the blade until re-watching the vid later on, so I think you must be right that there really isnt a way to fix that issue with the Centofante CF. It IS a shame really, because otherwise its a beauty. And THANK YOU for checking the blade swap-ability on the Stretch 2 XL. honestly I think thats close enough. If I can at least fit a PD1 or K390 blade into that body and it lock up solid ill be happy. Awesome my friend!

Without a doubt Cold steel triad lock is superior to any of the Spyderco and Benchmade.My Recon 1 in CTSXHP I would take any day over Spyderco Millitary or Benchmade Contego 810.I have all 3 knives and Cold steel is the beast compare with those 2 because of that triad lock.

The K390 is great. My preferences stand in diametric opposition to yours. I really like this knife.

My AD15 fails every time to very light spine strikes. Any thoughts? Also it is very off center, I'm not sure how to fix this with the minimal body screws :(.
