Ive had my 4218 just shy of two years and it gets run hard multiple hours at a time going through roughly 3 to 5 tanks of gas non stop each time it gets used weekly cutting red elm, oak, walnut etc etc yet hasnt missed a beat. Kept it sharpened every use and does aight for a small motor. Could use more torque but cant complain price wise. Its cheap and it works. Not gonna win any races.

Hopes you see this. I have a Poulan pro pp4218a. I took my bar and chain off. There are holes where yours appeared to be. But they don't look threaded. Do the screws make a thread when installed? I can't seem to confirm if my model accepts them. Thanks

I just bought a NEOTEC NCS6200 62cc / 20" bar. I'll be posting a video of it in action this week. You video among 3 or 4 others helped me settle on the brand. Seems the Neo's are getting really good reviews. And I couldn't beat the price. I got it off their eBay store, used an automatic coupon. It was to my door in 3 days.. CA to Abq NM for $118.34. I couldn't believe it.

Mine didn’t come with the elsstostart but came with the 3/4 wrap.

I have 2 "62cc" Zenoah clones. Both are 54.5 cc not 62. Check the cylinder and see if it has 52 or 58 written on the bottom edge next to the base gasket. If it does there is your answer. The 62s do exist just VERY hard to get a real one.

I've got 2 Customer return neotec NS872s coming. Hopefully they will both easy fixes but not worried. So far i haven't found a saw I couldn't fix. The worst one was a Poulan PP4620AVX with a piston ring GOD welded in the ring groove. I mixed gas, acetone, and alcohol with a bit of 2 stroke oil and soaked it for days and beat on it with a rubber mallet. Nothing helped. I ended up getting a new piston and rings and now she runs sweet.

I just received my FARMMWC F380 today, first thing that I found is it is very hard to pull the rope, very high compression, will be putting on that other handle, LOL Also the gas cap leaks, still trying to figure out what to do about that. Runs great, but I did order it with the bar and chain, but they did not come with this package, and no indication that they have been shipped, will try to contact the seller and find out what is going on.

Hi there after watching reviews like this I bought one of these saws and my one came and the air filter cover will not align correctly. I watched this review again and have seen yours is the exact same . Why did you fail to mention this in this review. You even removed it and replaced it and its not hard to miss

UPDATE: Received saw on 02/01/24. Saw had new carb without limiters and is fully adjustable with a double D high screw and a flat head on the low screw. Saw starts in a few pulls and runs like it should. Installed a 038-174-200 non cat muffler and it really rips. Gets on the limiter at 13K in the cut if not under a lot of pressure. Real pleased with the results. Strange thing is that the original carb had no limiters and a build date of 2021. Customer service from the Makita factory in Flowery Branch Ga. was top notch. UPDATE: Talked to the manager of the service center on 01/23/24. He told me that he took the saw outside and it instantly flooded with just a few pulls. He ordered a new carb while we were on the phone. I will update. ORIGINAL POST: I bought one of these new in box 06/12/23 and it flooded after cutting one log. Just one cut. Every time I tried to start it after that gas was coming out of the compression release after the second pull. I just put it away and used another saw. I finally had time to drop it off at the Makita factory service center in Flowery Branch Ga. on 01/17/24. Let's see what they come up with. I bought three of their pro level saws last year since they are killing one of the top brand saws on the market. I will update.

It is 54.5cc. The piston is 45mm, the bore is 45.2mm. There is a 62cc but about 90% of the time they just lie and put a 58cc(54.5cc) jug on it. I got one of the very generic ones that says Chainsaw 5800 on the cover and Professional on the bar. I also find it interesting that the ads usually say semi chisel chains come with it, but they are obviously full chisel. The chain SUCKS if you blunt too many of the chisels. I finally got my old saw running. A Xbull 62cc (54.5cc). The old one has a primer bulb. The newer ones delete it like yours both are. The old carb has 3 lines, new one has 2. You can fit a carb from a 372XP on it with a few modifications mainly to the carb, but to take advantage of it you MUST upgrade the crap stock intake. That's the same on both saws. There is a guy on ebay that sells them.

Hi , do these have a clutch operated oiler like the newer stihl saws or the crank driven oilers ? Does it only oil when the chain is turning ? Thanks

Very happy with mine. I ordered mine with the 16” bar. The air filter is the only complaint. Watch underneath i noted the gasket wasnt working and allowing sawdust thru. I sealed it with gasket seal.

I have the same one.. do yours leak oil at the bottom?

I modded one of those air filters.

Better than modern Poulans. Should have an adjustable oiler.

I've got a selection of parts on hand for that saw if you ever need them.

The manual for my 562 specifically says to use high idle position when hot starting.
