I hope you guys did this for as many people as possible (on the film) That's incredible (to be able to track down the people or family members of the people in the film. I grew up in Los Sures, came to the South Side in 1978 from Dominican Rep. I was 7 years old. this film is part of my childhood. I remember a lot of street gangs back then but they never really messed with anybody they were mostly at war with each other over turf.

Saw the film it’s ok,that wasn’t even half of the south side back then ! only the strong survived. I knew some of them that were filmed . I lived on south 2nd and Havemeyer st back then .

It's interesting but I hope people who are not Puerto Rican don't think that all Puerto Rican experiences in New York are like life in the Sures, many Puerto Ricans grew up in areas that were not ghetto or segregated or filled with violence and drugs, that is also a story that needs to be told.
